There it is again, lol the hovered. I think that's what I was missing.
Working on it now.
Thanks for clarifying too, Alex! I did not consider adding a custom action instead of modifying existing.
That does sound promising for the denser screens like battle or exploration. I'll keep that in mind.

Re: Do Code on Button Hover?
THAT'S the keyword I needed!!! "Tooltip" textbutton "One.": action Return(1) hovered tt.Action("The loneliest number.") I just spotted this in someone else's forum searching for "tooltip". This "hovered" if it works like I need, then that's probably exactly what I am looking for. Thanks, xavimat, I'...

Re: Do Code on Button Hover?
Thanks for the replies! To be honest, I'd prefer modifying the core Ren'Py files, such as 00xxx_action.rpy, to be a last resort. Thus far I have managed to make everything without need of this. I guess my question is how to use the hover property with something other than a background (i.e. hover_[w...

[Solved] Do Code on Button Hover?
Hi. I have a textbutton inside of a screen with something like this. textbutton _(v.name): action [ SetField(persistent,"sel",persistent.sel), ShowMenu("do_equip",pt,v) ] Everything works, but I want to accomplish something and I don't know if it is possible. When I hover on this textbutton, I want ...

Re: Question about Screens and Conditional Backgrounds in Fr
Ren'py has profoundly surprised me with its capabilities thus far, haha.
It's very flexible!
And THANK YOU! That is exactly what I was looking for! Works like a charm.
Much appreciated!

Re: DynamicDisplayable of object. How to show the result?
Honestly I am unsure how to manage this with your current method. There are other methods, like defining the character as DynamicDisplayable or ConditionSwitch, but it seems like you want layers of clothing to be dynamic on the character as well. You can use show or call to call screens, and possibl...

Re: Question about Screens and Conditional Backgrounds in Fr
Heya, thanks for responding! Yes, the button has an action and some more code after this part, but everything works fine except for this. I have tried what you recommended, but here's the little issue I am facing. #IN script.rpy image char_bg = ConditionSwitch( "curr_job == 'Wizard'", "images/CharCl...

[SOLVED] Question about Screens and Conditional Backgrounds
Sorry to keep bugging with all the questions, lol. Thankfully they have been simple issues to solve. I am working in my screens.rpy file, and I have created a screen that generates frames within a vbox. Each frame will have its own background. for i in range(min, max): frame: style_group "unitStyle"...

[Solved] Simple Persistent UI?
Hello, I am curious if there is a simple way to make a persistent UI that remains on screen during screen transitions. Essentially I want the background to change behind the UI interface, and I only want the UI to close on a specific call. I hope this is easier than I think it is, lol. Thanks in adv...

Aha! Much simpler than I thought.
Excellent, thank you! Both examples are straightforward and helpful.
Will also take a peek at LiveCrop to see if I can use it.
Thanks for the quick replies!

[SOLVED] Spritesheet Support?
Hello, Sorry if this has been asked, it's just that I have found a number of different things on the topic. Is there an efficient and simple way of using a spritesheet to animate one or more characters in Ren'Py? Note that the spritesheet will have a custom format. I don't want the game to have poor...

Heya everyone! If you've been following the development of Welcome to Intergalactic High, then please know I am very grateful! I have a question for anyone interested in the VN. Hey all! It's been a bit since I updated. I had some to rest for a week due to back pains. So far, the third main character is underway! His body artwork will soon be done and then I will focus on the character biographies for these guys! https://images-1.discordapp.net/.eJwNxkEOwiAQAMC_8ACW7lLBfsBD...
