Re: [Paid Coding Help] Build or Recycle a text adventure RPG Template or Skeleton
Hello, BallsDeepWeep. I make advanced games using Ren'Py. Python is a coding language like any other, and EVE Online utilizes Stackless Python, to give an example of how powerful it can be in the right hands. You may check my signature for past and current productions. I could do everything you have...

[Found] Need demo tester for Mac OS
Update: Found a tester. ^^ I need someone who has a Mac, to help test a demo I'm about to release on Steam. Just want to make sure the game runs properly. You don't have to test all the gameplay if you don't want to. If anyone can help, feel free to DM me for a Steam key. The game in question is li...

HAH! Thank you!!
Didn't know about that one.
Glad I took a short break. Only redid like 6 of the 116 sounds, haha!

Did the latest Ren'Py update break your sounds? Here's the fix!
Not sure if anyone else experienced this issue. Ren'Py now handles mono sounds differently. This step-by-step is going to cover how to use the software Audacity to cohere your game sounds. The solution is pretty simple! 1) Open Audacity 2) Open your Mono sound file. 3) Go to Tracks > Add New > Stere...

Re: Ren'Py Gripes
I recently posted here in Ren'Py Gripes regarding a glitch where choice screens would cause the text part to disappear.
It would leave only the options displayed.
I'm happy to say that the latest release version of Ren'Py fixed the issue!
So, just wanted to give thanks for that.

Re: Creating a Dating Sim - is Renpy suitable & do similar games exist?
I'm sure you will find a lot of info here in the forums, or you could just ask in these forums how to make a bar like that. There's also a Ren'Py Cookbook section here, with some code snippets that may be helpful if you're still learning the engine. This trailer covers what has been done in 113 days...

Re: Adjust volume bar with left/ right arrow key
You can try setting multiple actions, too. screen my_keys_operate_scr(mixer): key "focus_left" action [ SetDict (_preferences.volumes,'music', max (0.0, (_preferences.volumes['music'] - 0.1) ) ), SetDict (_preferences.volumes,'sound', max (0.0, (_preferences.volumes['sound'] - 0.1) ) ) ]

Re: Creating a Dating Sim - is Renpy suitable & do similar games exist?
Ren'Py is capable of pretty much anything 2D in my experience. Might even be possible to integrate 3D functionality. Just have to work with Python's standards, and preload images and optimize game code properly. For animations, best way is to work with spritesheets in my experience. Trial and error,...

Re: Import named store variable from other files
You can define python variables outside of store, and use those in screens or script with no problems. You can even define them in other scripts that aren't screens.rpy or script.rpy. For instance, all of my audio clips are stored as audio.(name) in dictionary.rpy. I use them in script by simply cal...

Re: Import named store variable from other files
Store variables are already used in all scripts for the same game. If you're calling the store variable inside of a label in script.rpy, or in screens.rpy you don't use store.var to refer to it. Only if you're using the variable in your own custom Python code under an init block, do you need to use ...

Re: Android Build Failed (for version 7.2.2)
When this happened to me, it was because I had many assets packaged in the game's files. Let me explain... You have your actual game's folder with name of the game. Inside the folder, there is a folder called game, that has all of your scripts and assets. You need to make sure the actual game's fold...

Re: Inventory HELP
Ahh, I see, so you're building upon the class. In the script you are defining: inventory = Inventory() I just noticed this. The actual variable storing the class is lowercase. Try changing your ifcheck to: if 'apple' in inventory.items: Note that I also changed apple to a string because it doesn't s...
