In simulation/role-playing games, I find it fun to find out more character backstory of the people in the games, usually after interacting further and becoming friends with them. Cut-scenes are always enjoyable.

Take example from Watamote (Tomoko). She's so awkward that she causes social misunderstanding, which sometimes causes some sexual comedy. Audience love it because she's funny.

So what you wanna think about is: What entertaining aspect can your character offer?

For adult audience, you can use complex wording/fancy dictionary terms; while for children, try to use simple words. That's the basic I can suggest.
