Re: The moment of giving up

Did you ever give up on projects? In that case, why? Yep. I try not to obliterate absolutely everything , but incomplete projects do get moved to the back burner if I like them enough to think, "Well, maybe I can get to this later." Why? Life offline can be stressful. While the entire point of maki...

Re: May I have honest critique of this song?

I like it. It has a nice flow. I especially like how it transitions between parts with lots of instruments to parts with few. It sounds like it would be from a game. One thing that I feel needs improvement is the fact that it was too repetitive. You had the same two motives play over and over again...

Re: Feedback Please? (I wasn't sure where to put this)

I feel a short to medium length visual novel with this premise could absolutely work. As far as clichés go, I don't think it is one. Please don't take anything I say too seriously, because the only stories I've written to completion were for my creative writing class. So. First of all, what I saw in...

Re: Stalker&Yandere [Yandere][Romance?][NaNo17]

Oh wow. There are a lot of choices in this one, so I'm glad that I saved before each one. The true end was very sweet and I'm glad it turned out okay for them. Good job, everyone! I can't get over the hilarity of some bits though. When Yandere-chan was discussing the mace over pepper spray situatio...

Re: Are there a One-scene games?

Thank you for the link. Cute piece of art :) It actually makes a good example, my idea also has two characters, I didn't count the player  Of course! If there's anything in particular you'd like to learn about visual novel craft, you are welcome to ask. While I may lack experience personally, ...

Re: Meet Me At Sea [otome][GxB][GxG][Mermaid]

Which character appeals to you the most so far? Whose route would you play first? I really like Nanami and Joshua, so I would probably play their routes in that order, respectively! How do you feel about a protagonist that has their own identity rather than being a blank slate for self-insertion? A...

Re: Pacing your scenes

@Mammon Thank you! This is exactly along the lines of what I wanted to find out, because I actually go into step-by-step detail in more than a few of my action scenes. Perhaps I'm just writing descriptive narration in the wrong places. If it isn't character development, make it as brief as possible...

Re: choosing scenes for CGs

In my opinion, anything that you as a creator want to show the audience qualifies as a CG-worthy moment. So if it highlights a climax of any scene, I wouldn't mind seeing one (no matter how mundane it may seem): characters eating together at a restaurant, a father playing with his son in a park, a m...

Re: 48h game [Nano 2017]

Thank you for your encouragement but I am a failure as a developer and a human being and spent today on unrelated matters. I surrender. Till next year, then, maybe. Whoa there. You're not a failure at all! Sometimes things come up and other things don't always go as planned. Heck, I spent the first...

Pacing your scenes

(I apologize in advance for asking so many questions) Generally speaking, a scene ends once a conflict has been introduced or resolved. Jack sees a childhood friend enter his classroom, or Jack finds out that he has powers. Something along those lines, right? I've been reading quite a few visual nov...

Re: Are there a One-scene games?

I've played a game that's sort of like that, in terms of having just one scene, but there are 2 characters involved (The Dark). Unfortunately, I don't have any examples of single-character games at the moment.

Re: 48h game [Nano 2017]

Your ambition is admirable. I mean, this is a ludum dare level of tight. I wish you luck on your progress!!

Personally, I would focus on getting the story into Ren'Py first and then do visuals, because we'll still be able to read your VN. :D But it's super if you can do artwork as well.

It's not too late, it's never too late. ;) The art is consistent across. I consider it a distinctive style like anything else. Your backgrounds really do look great as well. Don't worry so much about rushing and just take your time making it awesome. Your progress reports alone show your diligence. ...
