Oh, okay. Looking back, I see you mentioning the JDK, but not the Android SDK. You need it to build anything for Android.

Re: How to upload android version to itch.io?
What's that have to do with uploading to Itch.io? You probably mean building for Android. That's another story. Once you have a build, you can just upload it like any other file.

Re: How to use choices for VN storytelling
Excellent summary! Bonus points for the mention of pacing. People all too often forget how important it is, perhaps more so in games than books or movies.
As for the question about love, let me quote one of the most famous lines in any videogame: "What can change the nature of a man?"

Re: What do you think about VR visual novels?
As for VR, it adds only one important thing. It is another level of immersion compared to traditional novels. You don't have to translate characters and environment from 2D images to your imagination, you can see all directly. We've heard that when computer games moved from text to pictures. Then f...

Re: What do you think about VR visual novels?
But now the VR is much more affordable. You can buy Oculus Quest for $300, [...] $300 is still a lot of money in my neck of the woods. And in Romania we're basically rich compared to the average citizen of, say, India. Are you implying that the problem does not exist? Every article on Gamasutra/Red...

Re: What do you think about VR visual novels?
It sounds like a horse hitched to an electric scooter. No offense, but this question is yet more proof that VR remains a solution in search of a problem. A hammer looking for nails in a world of screws. In fact it reminds me of the time when Myst moved from static backgrounds to free-movement 3D, th...

Re: How to upload game demo to itch.io?
It worked when I opened the zip file, but I had to extract it myself. It appeared saying that the file was too big, which I read somewhere that it won't work if the zip file is too big. is there another way to upload the project? Yes, you can use Butler, or else contact support and ask for the limi...

Re: How to upload game demo to itch.io?
If I understand your question correctly, you want your game to be playable in the browser, but also available for download. In that case, pick HTML5 as the project type, and upload both web and desktop/mobile builds. Then tick the checkbox saying "this file will be played in the browser" next to the...

Re: Free vs Paid Visual Novels
Why not make it pay-what-you-want? That way people who can and want to support you will be able to, while everyone else can try your VN for free, and hopefully change their mind later.

Re: Easy Version Control software?
Back when I still used version control, Bazaar was by far my favorite. It's dead simple, no-nonsense, yet more than powerful enough for serious development. Definitely give it a try.

Re: Survey for players
I tried to answer but gave up when it turned out most of the questions, especially on page two, are of the "whatever makes sense for the story" type. Are you sure it's a good idea to make a mash-up of popular tropes, rather than a story you really want to tell? That said, to give you a useful answer...

Re: All Creators: Itchio Upload Request!
How can I increase my game sales/awareness? (...) What can this site do for me? Is it worth the time or should I find a better site? Itch.io does a LOT more than other marketplaces to give as many games as possible a place in the spotlight, but with over 200K of them hosted as of this writing, it c...

I haven't exactly played many, but one that left me ga-ga is My Burning Heart, that was also announced on Lemma Soft a while ago. Hope this helps!

Hi there! Fellow D programmer here, though I haven't done much in it that's game-related yet. It's a nice project, and I hope it works out. Good luck!

Re: All Creators: Itchio Upload Request!
Also, this assumes unfinished works have no value. I say they can provide inspiration and starting points. And many can still be enjoyed while they last. Do you always finish every game you play? Because for me that's a rare event. And if I don't finish a game anyway, what does it matter to me that ...
