Re: LINGERING [LGBT, Point and Click, QTE, Mystery, Drama][PAID]

Wow, those screenshots look great! I'm definitely adding this one to my list of stuff to read sometime soon.

I'm curious about which characters are the two protagonist options - are they any of the ones that have little profiles on the itch.io pagem, or are those just the love interests?

Looking for a Linux tester for The Light at the End of the Ocean

I'm hoping to release my project The Light at the End of the Ocean ( link to the demo here ) in a few weeks, and I've only had beta testers on Windows and Mac so far. I'm looking for someone who uses Linux to just double check that it runs fine on that system too and doesn't have any new mysterious ...

Problem with Custom Icon on Mac

I've run into an irritating little issue while trying to test my project on multiple operating systems. When I test a build on my Windows computer, my custom icon.ico seems to work perfectly, changing the .exe icon from the default RenPy icon to my own like it's supposed to. However, when I did the ...

Re: What kind of people are required for an otome game to be made?

The list Elsa posted is great, but I also want to reiterate that it's totally possible to make a game without filling all of those jobs with separate people - especially if it's your first game, and you're starting small with a low budget. It all depends on what the team members you currently have a...

Re: Quick question about receptivity

I think it sounds like a fun idea, and I know a lot of people who are especially interested in 18+ otome content! There aren't nearly as many eroge aimed at women as there are for men. I remember a lot of people being really excited when the translation of Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome came out a ...

Re: Psychological pattern/explanation for X-dere-types?

Are you looking for psychological explanations of why people write and enjoy those character types? Or for why someone might act like they do, or both? For the first one, I think a lot of the "dere" types are just exaggerated versions of traits that a lot of real people have. For instance, a tsunder...

Re: Pink Engine: A framework for using Tiled-created orthogonal maps in Ren'py

This sounds really useful! Thanks so much for sharing it with everyone. Having played around with RPGMaker a bit, it sounds like it will be great to be able to determine which layer individual objects are on myself, instead of having that be pre-determined by how the whole tileset is set up. I'll ha...

Re: Dead Man's Rest [BxB, Adventure, Western]

I love mysteries and gay cowboys! I'll be looking forward to this one. How important is historical accuracy (particularly cultural mannerisms) in portraying the setting, when history was rife with racism and other -isms that wouldn't fly today? I think it's totally fine to decide on your own approac...

Re: How do you guys outline your scripts?

I think having it semi-outlined but then ending up straying from the outline when you start writing is a pretty normal thing to have happen! It doesn't mean your outline was wrong, just that your ideas changed and developed more as you worked. A bit of that is probably bound to happen to everyone. T...

Re: Credit Sequence with One Team Member

Hey there! I don’t know how far you are into development, but I think you’ll find that you’ll have others to credit as you go. :) I create all my VNs on my own too (writing, coding and art) but I can’t do music and I get a lot of coding help/advice. In your credits you’ll probably have to credit an...

I just finished reading it and it was really cute! Great job with your first VN - I'll be looking forward to seeing your next one. You might want to double-check the programming of your credits page though - I tried to click on the link to your tumblr and got an error message.

Re: Opona [Idol][Psychological Thriller][Comedy]

This sounds like such a cool concept! I'm really interested in seeing what kind of dialogue choices I'll have to avoid saying things that can be taken out of context, and I want to do some dance battles! I'm always excited to see VNs that take place in Canada too.
