Re: Bai Qu [slice of life][urban fairytale][euthanasia][now on steam]
Wow, I'm so glad to see this! I really enjoyed how cute, relaxing, and unique Shan Gui was. I can't wait to read this sequel now, especially since it's something you've been working on for so long. Congratulations on releasing it.

Re: Shigatari [Samurai] [RPG] - Steam Release
I just started playing this and I'm really enjoying it! I always like games that have permadeath but also allow you to get some bonuses that carry over to your next run - it provides a nice challenge without making your efforts seem totally futile. The combat system with the timing and everything is...

Re: Diplomatic Relations [GxG][Fantasy][Romance]
The premise definitely catches my interest! I find diplomatic marriages between royalty fascinating - partially because of how many hours I've spent playing Crusader Kings 2, probably. Logan has a sweet haircut and I tend to like ladies with swords, so I'm most interested in her so far. I'm also a f...

Re: Protagonist Portraits
I'm curious about which VNs you've noticed them in recently that make you think they're the norm now, since I'm not sure I'd say they're super common in my experience. But I do much prefer a protagonist who's either customizable or an actual developed character to the faceless, personality-less Japa...

Re: Are game bundles a good idea for commercial VNs?
The offer is from IndieGala. I think they're in the top five in size, but I would welcome anyone who has impressions of them. I've been told by industry veterans that VNs have very little shot at Humble Bundles. I haven't released any commercial projects myself, so I can't really answer your main q...

Re: Why do some visual novels remove auto scrolling?
In some cases it could just be that for one reason or another, they did their programming in an engine that isn't really made for VNs (or is made for VNs but isn't made well), and doesn't make it easy to implement auto mode. So they might have decided that the other benefits of the engine outweigh t...

Re: custom protag yay or nay?
I think it depends on the kind of story you're going for! If it's something like a romantic comedy, in which the protagonist would be kind of self-insert anyway, I love having customization options. Creating a character is just fun in general, and if you give gender options too it allows for some mo...

Re: Acquittal: Induction [Adventure|Law+DEMO] [KICKSTARTER soon]
Oh this sounds really interesting! I also really like Ace Attorney and I'd love to see more games play around with similar concepts. Do you plan to have a linear structure like AA, in which messing up a trial just gets you a quick bad ending, or are you planning for a more branching storyline in whi...

This sounds really cute! Good luck - I'm looking forward to reading it.
I anticipate that Mina might be my favourite, since I like characters who are caring and reliable, and her design is also super adorable.

Sounds cute! I'd definitely be interested in some more information about what kind of science SOUP-er Girl is teaching you, and how it helps you defeat villains.

Re: Hair Games or Anime?
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but it could be relevant: my friend made a blog post a while ago analyzing different hair colours and styles in visual novels and their correlations to other aspects of characters. The data comes from VNDB tags. This post was for male characte...

Re: Quick Time Events in Visual Novels
I believe The Letter, a VN that's coming out later this month, uses quicktime events or at least did at some point in their development. You could check out their kickstarter updates to see what they've said about it - they're also nice detailed updates that say a lot of useful and interesting thing...

Re: Never∞Ending (Mystery otome\yuri)
- mystery - otome - yuri - creepy violent stuff happening in a quiet small town I'm hyped for this already. All the characters sound really cool to me so far. Abigail sounds like a great protagonist, and I'm really interested in seeing what her relationship is like with Gideon - I always like readin...
