Re: Random image tag for character attire
Ok, update... As usual, I forgot something minor. My 'if' statement was missing the second equal sign. So, that part's good now. 'Nother thing. The image tags don't like to be numbers... AND... it only wants three tags total (Bogus). After I swapped the numbers for letters, deleted the fourth tag, r...

Side-scroller minigame engine???
I thought I saw something about that in the forums before, but I can't find it.
Must've imagined it.
I saw a side scroller in pygame, but I'm not slick enough to make heads or tails of the code just yet.

Re: Random image tag for character attire
Ok, now it's telling me that my syntax on the 'if' line is wrong.
I tried taking out the $'s, but it didn't like that either.
So, scratch the part about the if statement being good... It's aparently fubar'd too. :p

Random image tag for character attire
Ok, I'm trying to throw together a random generator so that when a certain character enters the scene, their clothing is selected at random, and then that value is used through the rest of the scene, until next time we bump into that person. here's what I tried... #### Variables #### $ lClothes = re...

Re: Transitions with multiple sprites
gas.
Do you mean, just select any of the same transform, and use that one, or define my own?

Transitions with multiple sprites
Ok, so if I do this... scene bg washingnton show eileen with pushleft Both Eileen and the background will push left at the same time. But I can't get it to have two characters push left into the scene with the background. I tried just stacking them, like... scene bg washington show eieen show lucy w...

Re: transforming sprites that are already shown
Is it really that easy?
Wow, that's embarrassing.
Ok, so when I do it, the sprite jumps up so that it's touching the top.
It moves where I tell it, but it's stuck to the ceiling.

Re: transforming sprites that are already shown
That's exactly what I'm asking. I don't know how to do that. I can transform a sprite when I make it appear. I can even make it move as it appears... But if it's already there from a previous line, I only know how to hide it. I can hide it with a transform, but it has to be hiding or showing for me ...

transforming sprites that are already shown
How would one transform a sprite that is already shown in the game as the game advances a step. As in... *click* sprite pops up. *click* dialogue *click* sprite moves to a different spot. I thought about predefining a tranformation that starts at the sprite's location, hiding the first instance of t...
