Need to turn antialiasing off for text
I'm doing something ... retro and it involves aliased text. In Japanese. So I'm kind of unsure which bitmap font format to use here considering the number of glyphs. I attempted to patch text.py to set aliasing=false but the result is that bold text looks hollow in textboxes and regular text looks w...

Re: Ren'Py Gripes
Explanation: I hit project edit button, Renpy opens JEditor in a new window with tabs (buffers) for each game (.rpy) file. I edit, save, and run. There is an error and RenPy creates traceback.txt and opens it and everything else in a *NEW* JEditor window. Now I have to close the previous window, le...

Re: Umineko burst effect
Spoiler-free. The following is an educated guess taken from rewatching screen recordings and reading Uncle Mion's own documentation for ONScripter. Thanks in advance to anyone knowledgeable enough to correct me. The effect is named 'breakup' in ONScripter. As a bit of background, in NScripter compat...

Re: 6.11 Development
Hey Tom! When my eroge ZOMBIE SLUTS FROM MARS crashes on someone else's computer, would it be too much of an inconvenience for the traceback not to report my entire hard drive name, user account name, and path? HEY KIDS: BONUS FUN TIME put any Ren'Py eroge (any platform) into your dev folder and lin...

Re: Seperate Fonts Per Character
If all you're aiming for is having a character speak in dingbats, most of them were incorporated into unicode and therefore are likely to appear in the default font Ren'Py uses (Vera Sans).

Re: New Ren'Py Stand-Alone code editor
I recognize that this is probably leveraging Windows development tools and/or .NET, but will it be open sourced to at least allow for the possibility of ports?

Default Backgrounds
Will backgrounds that do not exactly match window dimensions continue to leave ghosts, or will the new code actually clean up after itself?

Re: Side Image (and anomalous problem)
I don't know why Ren'Py doesn't default to putting a solid black image behind everything, instead doing this pretend-black that doesn't clear properly, but that's the way it is. Speed. Putting those black pixels on the screen would take time, and in most cases, that would be wasted time. If you wro...

If Tom were willing to implement this I'd provide the GeShi syntax file for Ren'Py.

Re: Ren'Py 6.10.2 Released
Here's one bug that's definite. If you attempt to edit the current line of the script of the tutorial game with Shift-E, whatever editor you use will try to open a file that doesn't exist because the path is incorrect (either defaulting as above to the editor's own directory, or if you apply the sam...

Re: Ren'Py 6.10.2 Released
Here's one which may or may not be an error, because I can't tell what the root cause is. I was making a custom Editra.editor.py file when I noticed that it was incapable of passing error/traceback/lint files to the custom editor. When I started searching through the code that launches these three f...
