Re: Predefined text positions
All of this is nifty, but how do I center text inside dialogue (i.e. define a paragraph as horizontally centered text)? The examples I've found in this forum don't work for me.

Mediafire has only barfed once on me, but it requires you to log in or a download to occur every 30 days before it starts to purge your files.

Re: Fading in text in the message box
Any chance this will be possible once OpenGL is implemented? OpenGL is a library for passing off things that could be done in CPU to a GPU. It doesn't necessarily make things possible that were not possible beforehand, it just makes some of them faster because something else is handling them. Anyon...

Re: Alternate syntax highlighting for Ren'Py in jEdit
Shameless bump because I had to repair a few mistakes in the config file above. Give it a try; the worst that happens is you decide you hate it and put back the original renpy.xml.

Alternate syntax highlighting for Ren'Py in jEdit
The syntax highlighter for Ren'Py is less than wonderful: All the keywords are brown, with no definition of context. By contrast, most other syntax highlighters usually make an attempt to separate out the keywords by their classes (commands, functions, objects, methods, arguments). The operators do ...

in your init.rpy: image bg black = "#000000" In your script: scene bg black with fade Try this instead. I don't know why you're trying to use Solid. The important thing to understand about images in Ren'Py is the concept of labels and tags. The fact that Python likes using spaces where other languag...

Re: Font suggestions?
More fonts can be found at Linotype , Adobe and ITC , some of them are pretty affordable (especially if you don't buy the whole family, for example some parts of Gill Sans can be had for some 30$ if memory serves correctly). It is a dangerous path to assume that commercial font licenses include emb...

Re: h.264
I did some research as to which formats Linux distros think are safe to include, patent wise. IIRC, mpeg is allowed because there's a commitment to not go after open-source decoders. But there's no similar commitment when it comes to h.264, so I don't want to risk it. A chunk of my job involves med...

Need preference to disable more new windows in jEdit
Create a preference under Launcher Options:Text editor for letting the developer choose whether config.editor_transient passes -reuseview or -newplainview to jEdit (and yes, I understand this is currently the only difference between config.editor and config.editor_transient). When I'm debugging, I d...

Re: 6.10 Development
I'd like a way to save images like composite to files. Documentation is sketchy on how to pass displayables to native pygame methods like image.save. The paperdoll maker would be an example of where this could be useful. If there's an obvious way of doing this I apologize.

Re: Theora playback
I don't know much about Theora but VLC shows three streams where I expect to see two:
I suspect Firefox is more robust in parsing out streams, but I have no idea what stream 0 is or why it's there. What options are you encoding your media with?
