Re: This style for a visual novel?

Is there something about it you're unsure of?

Re: Library Program

I think there's merit to creating a visual novel alone[...] I don't know that I agree with this. There's definitely merit, like you said, but it's also a much more difficult process than you would think. The first VN that I released, which I made on my own, literally had no art because it's nowhere...

Re: Library Program

IMO, I think it would be best to have each person flesh out their own projects and learn how to implement everything themselves rather than splitting people up by abilities in a first project. I think there's merit to creating a visual novel alone, experiencing every step in how a visual novel is ma...

Re: Feedback for handsome butler

Maybe shift the mouth down more? It's a good likeness of an otome kind of style IMO. I feel like the proportions of the face are good :3

Re: Creating a Team: How?

Speaking as someone who is willing to do work pro bono, I look for projects that have a lot of work done already. At the very least, the script should be done. It's easier to commit to a project when I have a very specific list of things to do, which usually ties very closely to how close the projec...

Re: Font talk/reccomendation request

This is kind of a sticky issue, legally. In order to have a user see special fonts (especially in dialog), you would need to distribute the font through the visual novel program file. That requires a different license than if someone was to use a font for a comic that has the font baked into the gra...

Re: Programs to make BGs and GUI

Legally, CS2 isn't freeware. But practically speaking, it makes little sense for Adobe to go after small independent artists when they have companies running on cracked versions of Adobe software (I used to work for one of those companies. It was shady AF). When I was going to college for my Animati...

Re: Alice in Neverland: Seeking background artist

Hello! I'm interested in doing backgrounds. I don't usually draw them, but hopefully you can get an idea of the work I do from examples here: http://68.media.tumblr.com/f957c0dfd5109fa6fb1d34f36e058e32/tumblr_ohg0t2poZw1qf9h1oo2_1280.png http://warp76.thecomicseries.com/comics/30/ Unfortunately I do...

Re: Critique needed, please~

1. Oh, I meant if the folds/crinkles look alright. I'm not that great at making folds look realistic, so if you have some advice for me that would be great! 4. I know, I'm not sure how to portray movement in poses that the reader will look at for a long time without the characters looking like they...

Re: Critique needed, please~

- The clothes (and if they look correct.) I would need context to be able to critique if the clothes are "correct". What is the tone/setting/genre of your VN? - The colour of the clothes (if you think they don't clash.) I'm assuming your color palette is very muted, so I suggest Rika's lighter jean...

Re: Good idea bad idea?

So far this looks more like copying rather than copying a style. I agree with Mammon that there are far too many similarities at this point. The pose is similar/same, as well as the clothes that are drawn so far. Some changes you could probably do to make it more original could be Altering the lengt...

Re: Unreasonable Teen Requests

bul·ly1 ˈbo͝olē verb use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants. I would say your first dialog options falls under bullying. Some things I can think of off the top of my head: "If you're sad that makes me uncomfortable so I will be...

Re: Is my character art good enough? (please critique)

I think it would work with the kind of game you're going for :3

A suggesting I have would be to not be afraid of drawing hands, even though I know they may be quite daunting. Hands are great at adding and/or enhancing emotion and attitude, and they'll add a lot to the body language of the character.

Re: What makes a VN good/bad?

1-2) A good logo, app icon and visuals are really helpful when it comes to marketing, but doesn't necessarily have a connection to being a good visual novel 3) There are pros and cons in making a game for a company. The biggest pro is that the company has resources (ie: skills and programs) readily ...

Re: StoryDevs — a site for finding VN devs

I had some trouble reserving my handle on Safari. When I view the site from Safari (ver. 10.1.2), I only see the header (StoryDev logo, Talent, About, FAQ, Mailing List) and the Search, Results and Profile columns. The links to the FAQ and About sections don't go anywhere, but the search function wo...
