The principle alternative to Bezier is Catmull-Rom which should become a part of Ren'Py 7.4 (using 3+ knots) Unlike Bezier, Catmull paths actually pass through the stated points (rather than just using them to control the path) so can be lots easier to work with. If someone wants to move any image freely, read the entire topic and in 'PD 3', you will find the solution.
