Re: What makes a game 'otome'?
Hrm... probably the difference between Nancy Drew games, and Bayonetta/Lara Croft? Depressing for me since I like Nancy Drew a lot more than either of those two, but it's a valid point =P Embrace the otome Asceai! ;) An Otome game is any game that's much more appealing to (heterosexual) females. Th...

Re: Loading up Renpy VS Typing up a document
I use a program called Wikipad for writing the main script, as it works nicely for ordering branches and the like. When I'm away from home I just use whatever text program is available and move it to wikipad later. I can't focus on writing the text and considering coding etc at the same time, as it ...

Re: Selling out (theoretical discussion only)
I'm not sure I could write the kind of thing that yuri fans would want. For now a GxG route has been possible in my game, but nothing that focused only on that.
I wouldn't mind doing art for one though, could be interesting.

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
Of course they are anime
Being anime says nothing about the content or quality of the end result.

Re: New Term for Visual Novels? [split]
I disagree with many of you whom say "visual novel is already recognized". That depends entirely what social circles you're in. The only people in my life that have the faintest idea of what a visual novel actually is are you guys. At least from what I see, it seems that games journalists and peopl...

Re: New Term for Visual Novels? [split]
There is no need to add "kinetic novel" even, just make sure mention clearly if the novel is interactive or not. Why? Please define 'interactive'. Somebody asked me if Li'l red is a KN or not. It has choices, but... http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?p=322708#p322708 http://lemmasoft.re...

Sounds very nice so far. Count me in as one who is really interested in the possible Construct2 integration, that would just be awesome to have.

Re: New Term for Visual Novels? [split]
I don't think this is a good idea. The term "visual novel" is finally becoming one that the general populace will recognise. Also a Visual Novel will encompass any console or genre, while "touch novel" sounds strange and way too specific, as definitely not all will go the way of smart phones, and th...

Congratulations Tom
I haven't posted much on this forum for a long while now, but have loved having Renpy and this place available for many years now. I really appreciate the hard work and good attitude put into this engine.

Fun to hear how she came to be
Guess she's one of those characters that just 'stick' with their creators through all sorts of things.

Re: A question for VN players
For me it would be the general presentation of a gripping story, art and music to come together to create a great atmosphere that draws you in. Yeah, that's it. As for Alvand - man, he annoyed me so much xD And his voice too. It's like they put on the layer of "princely" too thick, I must be extra s...

First: not sure. Narcissu I think.
Best: Ever17 probably, because of the impression it left on me. Comic Party and Kanon have sentimental value
