Re: Many games in one?

Yes, and so you get into that menu directly instead of the normal Renpy one

Re: Many games in one?

I'm asking about editing the main menu, not quite about the extras menu or minigames. I want to make the game so you start and get the choice of which VN (or mini game maybe) do you want to play, instead of clicking start and always starting the same one. The game remembers which ones have you unloc...

Many games in one?

Hello. What I want to do is pretty much the menu in Kirby Superstar. So when you start, instead of the normal menu, you get an imagemap that only shows the 'games' or extras you have unlocked so far (minigames would be so awesome), plus the standard options like load and preferences. And when you ch...

Re: Lilac Melody [GxG] [Romance, school life, slice of life]

Oh, those drawings are pretty, are you going to use the chibis as the characters' sprites through the games or the art will be more like that uncolored Chris?
Evelyn and Stella are my favorites, kudos for making a GxG otome.

Re: Help choosing an art style for my game

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll keep the first guy like that, I don't want to make him look too old since I may add other characters that are older than 60. The third guy is -hard- to draw. Dunno, about 3/4 of the times I draw him I feel that I'm getting him wrong. Why do you say he scared yo...

Re: Help choosing an art style for my game

First girl looks young, looks like she could be 8. The first guy looks around his 40s to 50s(though it all depends on how his life turned out). If you wanna make him look slightly older, but not too old, when you shade him, add in a few subtle wrinkle lines. You could also define his face more, in ...

Re: Help choosing an art style for my game

Here's something less saturated, I guess I may be getting closer to the style I want. Again, please ignore the dirtiness and lack of shading and detail. Also, I'm aware that there's a problem with the pose of the third character. Am I portraying their ages well? The first girl is 8 years old, the fi...

Re: Writing Tip: Advanced Character CREATION

Sure you can! You just have to think Creatively. :) I meant, they're not characters unless they are somehow sentient. When the knife is just a knife and the story is written in a way the reader isn't supposed to empathize with it, it doesn't really counts as a character, but just an element of the ...

Re: Writing Tip: Advanced Character CREATION

I posted that comment because you referred to all three 'forces' as characters, and you can't quite consider a particularly useful knife or an awful weather as characters.
Also regarding 'Anything at all that helps him survive becomes his Ally', I'd replace survive with 'achieving his/her goals'.

Re: Writing Tip: Advanced Character CREATION

Three? I thought the minimum was one, and many of my stories don't really have antagonists (but the circumstances themselves drive the characters' conflicts).

Re: Help choosing an art style for my game

Yeah, I think I'll try something between those two and see what happens. Personally I think that realism makes children and older adults look less appealing than other styles, and in my stories in general there aren't many people between 13 and 40 years old. About saturation, I'm kind of experimenti...

Re: Help choosing an art style for my game

Hmm, I do like some anime inspired styles. I guess my problem is that I want a balance between these three: 1-Making most characters appealing (which tends to be easier in anime styles) 2-Making all characters have unique physical features (which is easier in some cartoonish styles) 3-Giving them so...

Re: How to write fight scenes?

My first thought when I entered this thread was the visual novel Frozen Essence. It had many fight scenes, while they were a bit long and there was a pretty annoying sound effect used often, the fights themselves were really well done.
Sorry for not having any kind of actual advice D:

Re: Help choosing an art style for my game

Oh, I didn't really mean choosing between one of those, I don't like any of them, but it's what I currently have D:
Again, obviously the actual art for the game will be clean :P
