Re: The Road to 6.13

In 6.13, there will be support for reading translations out of a file. Great, waiting impatiently...;) And about translating main and game menus - while use default menus, it was necessary to reload a game when language changed, but for now (using screens) - is this behaviour steel the same? http:/...

Re: Text positioning :o

You should play some with "window_padding"s. In "options.rpy" lines about 110. Uncomment them (delete the #-sign) and change the values. ## Padding is space inside the window, where the background is ## drawn. style.window.left_padding = 26 # style.window.right_padding = 6 # style.window.top_padding...

Re: The Affair - The Teacup VN Festival 2011 Day 5

I enjoyed the story - it's so... sunny. e: "I'm waiting for the next train. Same as you, silly." p: "WHAT! Y-You mean, this wasn't your stop either?" e: "Oh, not at all. You see, I woke up so suddenly and presumed that my body clock had awakened me at my usual stop, but it turns out that I got off t...

Re: A different preferences/load/save menu for the ma...(SOL

The problem was that you didn't tell Ren'py what it should do when you click "about" button. So it was confused. In "screens.rpy" screen main_menu: ... ... ... textbutton _("Acerca de") action ShowMenu ("about") # tells Ren'py to show your "about"-page Also, in "acerca.rpy" you don't need init: $ co...

Re: A different preferences/load/save menu for the ma...(SOL

I m not sure how to put the distribution of the code Run the launcher, select your project, then click "Build distribution" - Ren'py will make the distribution of your project (a .zip file). Then attach distro to your message (at the bottom of reply form click the button to select file on your comp...

Re: A different preferences/load/save menu for the ma...(SOL

Hm, I've copy/pasted your code and it worked for me... Seems, that problem not in this part of code. Build the distribution of your project and attach it to the post to let people check it.

Re: Trying to position an image and it seems to be cropping

Umh... ok then... The problem is: 1) ui.vbox() detects the size of your "gizmopluslogo.png" and makes a box with appropriate width 2) you tell Ren'py to show "gizmopluslogo.png" 100 pxls to the right, so the part of the image is out of vbox area. So, make the vbox that contains "gizmopluslogo.png" b...

...sometimes, it is necessary to set "xminimum" and "yminimum" too...
Try to add them.

Re: Trying to position an image and it seems to be cropping

I think, the part of your image is just out of visible area of viewport (but you don't have a horizontal bar to scroll image). Try to specify "xmaximum" and "ymaximum" for viewport.

Re: Resolution and fitting images to the monitor resolution

But, having a widescreen monitor (2560 x 1440) when I set the game to fullscreen I see two black bars on the side. That's how it works (if you'd have game res 2560x1440 and would try it on old monitor, the fullscreen picture would have two black bars at top and bottom). How can I make the game auto...

Re: i do not understand imagemaps

justanartistnamedkim , I suppose that the problem is - wrong indentation. In your script, lines 335 and 336 (as others) has one space at the begining. And line 338 (with imagemap) does not indented at all. Only labels and sreens does not need indentation. So, indent line 338 the same way as lines 3...

Re: Resolution and fitting images to the monitor resolution

Well, in options.rpy you can set the size of game screen (it is 800 x 600 pxl by default), and all your sprites and background images should fit this game screen size. That's all you need to worry about - Ren'py will be properly shown on any kind of monitor.

Inside <init:> block. There you can declare transforms, displayables, characters, etc.
