A good reference point to look at for Japan war times is the grave of the fireflies novel or anime, a very graphic depiction of ww2 in Japan.

Trying to work in my coloring, not the best but I think I'm improving since my previous style was suuuuuuuuuuper lazy. I know the anatomy's off, that is something I really have to work on. Lol it depends, I love the way it looks, very stylistic, how well does it fit with your sprites?

It feels very loose, but maybe defining it more would help,
the tables are a little rough compared to everything imo but better background than i could have ever drawn LoL.
