Yes, they have been around for at least a few years and seem to be used the most on forums aimed at teenagers, which is why I was rather shocked to see them here.

Re: WIPs and Effort : A Recent Trend
And I have to agree on what you say about the script. Myself, if I would have been making graphics for some project and the writer gave up or disappeared for some reason, I'd never be able to restore my trust in that person. :/ So why should the writer have enough faith to work on a script if there...

Re: WIPs and Effort : A Recent Trend
As for the main topic, I agree. It's kind of sad how many projects that are interesting on a theoretical level don't get project staff just because people don't know how to make attractive WIP threads. I don't think the problem is bad WIP threads. The problem is that people are looking for help bef...

Re: WIPs and Effort : A Recent Trend
Yes. Yes. YES. It would be GREAT, if there weren't kids/people with the minds of children on the internet (not all kids/teenagers are stupid, there are some highly intelligent ones who create great things; I don't mean you guys~ ;3). Age has nearly absolutely nothing to do with intelligence. Nothin...

As this topic concerns your art, shouldn't it be in Art/Writing/Music instead of General Discussion?
Really good 3D nonetheless, though I personally prefer 2D. ^^

Re: The Free Stuff Thread
No, I wasn't referring to anyone in particular, definitely not! :D I just meant what I said there: it'd be a shame to give these to someone who doesn't really visit this place. But if you want these, I'd prefer PMs - it'll probably take a lot of messages to get the shipping costs etc solved, so it'd...

Re: Soda: Hentai Edition
My boyfriend actually ended up ordering some bottles of this (despite the high price) after I linked to the website, and to be honest... I'm looking forward to tasting it. :D Nothing is as refreshing as being a little impulsive and insane every once in a while! Except the smooth taste of Tentacle Gr...

It's not like all girls don't have sense of humour. I would consider it pretty funny if my boyfriend drank this, but I don't think it'll be sold anywhere near...Air-Dragon wrote:Don't want to drink this with your girlfriend...LOL! Or any girl.

Re: Criticism and Pushing the Envelope
By this I mean, that if we want OELVNs that are taken as seriously as the better JPVNs that they "descend" from, then we need to do the things that we all know make those more enjoyable. That means longer stories, more fully realized characters, some animation, and full voice work with a ...

Re: Fantasia, Realm of Darkness. 2nd DEMO IS UP!
Are you sure the song is 44kHz and not for example 48kHz? Other frequencies seem to glitch a little with Ren'Py. Also, if your songs are in mp3 format, I'd recommend you change them to ogg, because you'll get the same quality but it will take less space -> less heavy game -> easier to download for p...

Re: Songs of Araiah
I just finished this game, and I have to say I adored it! The execution is very professional and supports the atmosphere excellently, too bad the music wasn't exclusive to the game. Pieces that had been used in other games bothered me at first as I wondered where else I had heard them before. ^^; Ho...

Re: visual editor for visual novels
Yes, Novelty is visual, but not for Linux. Myself I tend to use Photoshop for mockups, works fine - have you tried similar programs? :o After you have drawn the mockup it's easy to port it to Ren'Py. For further planning (story, characters etc) I use OpenOffice.org Writer, which I think is available...
