Re: I want to make my screen disappear when mouse unhovers the 'area'

Button needs an action for hovered and unhovered to work, so action NullAction() should be give to those buttons. When you hover over a new button, even if that button is inside the button, the main button will lose focus, unhovering it. So when you hover over one of the textbuttons the main button ...

Re: Layered image not showing up

From what I can make out from the jumble of words, it looks like it can't find the images inside the layered image now. I'm not entirely sure how the auto definition for images works, but for the images, try making them all lowercase, so "May_base" becomes "may_base". "When a file with the .jpg or ....

Re: Adding {nw} text tag to a character's dialogue?

what_suffix="{nw)"
https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/dialogue.html#Character
what_suffix
A string that is appended to the dialogue being spoken before it is shown.
Don't know why you'd want to do this though, as the text would disappear before the user can finish reading it.

Re: buttons with transparent areas shown as white

Displayable takes an actual displayable, like an image, separate from the button images and uses its transparency to determine what parts of the button can be focused with the cursor. True does the same thing only it uses the button images to do this.

Re: Layered image not showing up

You should be showing the image itself not the character. So show May mayopen MayMaid with dissolve You also seem to have define the character image as just "May_base.png". But I'm guessing you it to show the layered image. define m = Character("May", image="May") label start: show May MayMaid mayop...

Re: Some questions about saving game

1. In your second example, for the input value, name_slot needs to be given as a string, like "name_slot" 3. Instead of using an imagebutton, you could use a textbutton and style it to look like normal text and when the user clicks it, it copies it. textbutton txt action Function(copytext, t=txt)

Re: How to change hover color of slots?

The bar is part of the hover image for the slot buttons. You'll find it in the gui/button folder.

Re: Drawing in Ren'Py

Also just to add, adding a new method that pops the last child from the list and you've got yourself an undo button and putting the removed child into a new list, you now also have a redo button. def undo(self): self.old_children.append(self.children.pop()) renpy.redraw(self, 0) def redo(self): self...

Re: Sound on Click?

You can create a screen that has an invisible image button over the whole display and uses a Play() action to play an audio file whenever the player clicks or presses a button to advance the dialogue. init: transform FullScreen(): python: x = renpy.get_physical_size()[0] y = renpy.get_physical_size...

Re: Drawing in Ren'Py

This thread got me interested in trying to make a drawing function, so like was mentioned before, I tried making a UDD. It works a lot better than the button method but it's still far from perfect. Never used UDD before as never needed it so it's probably a bit messy but here it is. lDraw_Pos = [] #...

Re: How to fix this error?

It's pretty much saying you've tried to assign a default value to white twice.
Search your code for a repetition of default white and remove it.

Re: How to do this?

Use the background style property:

Code: Select all

frame xalign 0.0 yfill True xsize 400 background '#000000'
Then you can give them any color you want.

Re: How to do this?

Sorry, my bad.

Code: Select all

frame align 0.0 yfill True xsize 200 ## left border
frame align 1.0 yfill True xsize 200 ## right border
Change align to yalign.
