Re: How to do this?

To get black borders on top of the image you could make a screen with 2 frames with black backgrounds. screen borders(): frame align 0.0 yfill True xsize 200 ## left border frame align 1.0 yfill True xsize 200 ## right border Then show it when you need it. label start: scene street ## background ima...

Re: Drawing in Ren'Py

So I gave it a go and it is pretty laggy. Max size I could do before it lagged unbearably on my PC was 40x40. 50x50 was bad and once you start getting towards 100x100 and beyond, it lagged so bad I kept getting has stopped responding messages. init python: def fSetVal(max): l = [] for i in range(max...

Re: is it possible to pass an action to a screen?

You seem to need to pass it with a keyword,

Code: Select all

screen test:
	textbutton _("Return") action Show('test_1', a=Return())

scren test_1(a):
	textbutton _("Return") action a

Re: Drawing in Ren'Py

This was asked once before and the conclusion at that time was that it was not possible in any feasible way. A recent thread prompted me to conside building a grid, made up of 1*1 solids. Upon mouseover (perhaps, only when holding down a key), any hovered grid section would swap colors. It might wo...

Re: ERROR; Expected Statment

renpy.full_restart is a python statement so you need to put the $ in front of it

Code: Select all

$ renpy.full_restart(transition=False, label='_invoke_main_menu', target='_main_menu')

Re: How to change the music that plays on the main menu?

There's a couple of ways you could force it to play a different song, one being the use of the before_main_menu label. define config.main_menu_music = "music/main_menu.ogg" label before_main_menu: if persistent.ending == "ending1": play music "music/main_menu1.ogg" elif persistent.ending == "ending2...

Re: Editing About Screen

Using at truecenter instead of xpos 200 will place it in the middle of the screen.
You could also use align (0.5, 0.5) so you can adjust the positioning slightly if needed.

"WindowsError: [Error 32] The process cannot access the file beacause it is being used by another process."
I think you need to close the file before you can change the name and stuff.

Code: Select all

f.close()

Re: Syncronicity shake fx issue

Try removing the at my_shake from show reilly madcar.
I don't think you need to supply the transform again if you're just changing the image.

Re: Using Tooltip("text") with a frame inside a screen.

You can use showif to check if the tooltip value is empty or not and show the frame and text. screen screenname: default tt = Tooltip("") frame: xalign X yalign Y vbox: textbutton "Button 1": action Hide("screenname"), Jump("New label") hovered tt.Action("More info about button 1") showif tt.value: ...

Re: How to stop blitting if I hide screen?

One thing is you need to give the button an action for hovered to work.

Code: Select all

imagebutton:
   xpos 100
   ypos 100
   auto "images/faces_%s.png"
   action NullAction()
   hovered Hide("show_custom")
