Re: Convienience

I'm willing to accept some breaks from reality for the sake of entertainment, but it's nice if the writers seem to have at least glanced at Wikipedia. :) In other words, even if you're going to ignore it for convenience's sake, you should still do the research. Now, watch me as I disregard my own ad...

Re: The Knowledge Divide Between Player and Player Character

Actually I have played it. :D Fond memories.

But given that he doesn't actually jump, I wouldn't consider that a real choice - it's just pretending to be one.

Re: Do you think customizing genre is a good idea?

The only problem I would see with turning off GxB girls is if you degrade the protagonist, such as, fanservicing her "tits and ass" or turning her into a whore for no reason. This. As a woman, I've got no problem with blood, gore, even with sex if it's maturely handled (and by mature, I mean actual...

Re: Preferred appearance?

Depends on what sort of story you have, as well. Moe characters might look a little out of place in a gritty war epic. XD

Re: The Knowledge Divide Between Player and Player Character

a peasant character surely known which local herb is poisonous and which is curative, but the player can't have this advance knowledge, and presented with the choice "pick the reddish root" and "pick the large leaf" s/he find at loss and presenting a bad/good ending choice of this type is surely no...

Re: Computer pet peeves

My laptop has a fingerprint scanner (to use instead of actually typing your passwords). It's RIGHT BELOW the touchpad, between the left and right buttons. If I accidentally move my hand over the scanner, the conputer feels the need to beep at me and display a fingerprint logo. This isn't too bad, bu...

Re: [Critique Please] Horror game art style; also need BETAS

I prefer the second style, personally, although I would agree that it looks a bit too soft for a horror game. There are two problems I have with the vector style. The first is that nearly every game uses a very similar style, and after a while this gets boring. The second is that it can look a littl...

Re: Character Sprite Maker -- Taking Outfit/Hair requests

It might be nice - maybe for a future version of the doll, if it would add too many options to this one - to have some winter clothes as well. She must have something to wear when the weather gets cold, right? :P

Re: layout of art within the game

I would like to see either changing sprite expressions and side images, or changing sprite expressions and no side images. And the protagonist shouldn't be on screen, except maybe in CGs, but I don't mind him having a side image portrait. Also, as a fan of BL I must say I'm looking forward to your g...

Re: Anyone Interested in Online RPing?

Wouldn't role-playing in renpy code leave us with a very un-descriptive rp? I mean, in an actual visual novel, the backgrounds and sprites are right there, so they don't need to be described. But we won't have any art assets yet.

Re: Anyone Interested in Online RPing?

I think a cyberpunk/supernatural storyline sounds really interesting. :) I have little faith in forum-based RP'ing. They just take too long to get anywhere. Like play-by-snail-mail chess. Well, the only alternatives I can think of are play-by-email, which is just as slow, and chatroom-based RPing, w...

Re: Anyone Interested in Online RPing?

Ooh, this looks fun - count me in.
I'm more interested in settings with some sort of fantasy or science fiction element, but I'm not super-picky.

Re: Huge cast, or broken-up sets?

It depends. If you think that managing a huge cast would cause you (as the developer) to neglect other aspects of the game, then I would say definitely go for a smaller cast. I wouldn't be annoyed to see more games with the same gameplay and setting but different casts so long as the gameplay and se...

By shaking, do you mean sort of flickering? 'Cause if so my Acer's doing exactly the same thing. No clue why, though.

I'm Scottish, therefore I eat haggis - never tried the stuff.

I'm an art student, therefore I must be into drink and drugs - I have never taken illegal drugs and only drink on occasion.
