Re: [POLL!] What tutorial for this forum?

I vote for B, I think the many of the reference materials in the forums need an update for new users like myself.

What is a Rythm Game, it sounds interesting though.

Thank you for your hard work, Gas!

Your CG Background are so beautiful, I wonder if you can share how you render the artwork, or if you have any tutorials?

Thank you.

Re: How make background fast

For building interiors I like to use Sweet Home 3D . It has a huge library of furnitures, but the render from the software isn't great; I'll suggest to export the scene to a other software (Blender for exemple) or use it as a base for tracing. Speaking of tracing, I like to do that over photos or m...

Re: Linking to other script files?

As above, making a new file is all that's needed and is actually recommended for (very slight) performance improvements. Just be sure to use labels and jumps returns etc correctly, remember that files load alphanumerically, and do not start any file names with 00 Hi, I'm still quite new to Renpy, j...

Re: How to get the name of the player in the dialog box?

Thanks! It works, I realize I just need to add the define statement.

define name = Character("[name]")

Thank you so much!

    povname = povname.strip()

    if not povname:
         povname = "Pat Smith"

pov "My name is [povname]!"
Thank you iDweadith! Do i put this in scrypt.renpy itself?

[Solved] How to get the name of the player in the dialog box?

Hi, So in my game I allow the player to input the name of his using the code below: # This starts the input for the player's name. $ name = renpy.input("What is your name?") $ name = name.strip() if name == "": $ name="Jonathan" "You can create anything in this world. Pleased to meet you, [name]!" #...

Hi,
I really like the anatomy and design of your character, your background looks really cool. It makes me wonder how do you create it. I wonder is this character for a game? :)

Re: Does using Ren'Py mean I have experience with Python?

I'm trying to make a resume and I'm wondering if adding "Python" to my skill list is a good idea. Does using Ren'py mean I can do that? Hi, All the above gave the correct view. I have studied and code in Python before and I'm in the IT industry. I would say this.. 1. The amount of Python coding in ...
