Re: Renpy Saving and Reading to and from Textfiles
Is it possible for renpy to Save and Read to and from Textfiles (TXT) Perfectly possible. Here's an example of using the reading of a text file for a credits scroll -- it was too annoying to define a long credits scroll in a variable: label credits: # If more precise control is needed, this is how:...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
I think that was a misfeature. It was complex to implement, and required quite a bit of analysis to get right - most of the time. I really don't want to repeat that mistake, especially in a way that would change the semantics of existing code. "Prohibitively hard, WONTFIX" is a perfectly reasonable...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
I could use an example of this. See the example showing vibrating character sprites I have previously posted (and I know you have seen it) at http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?p=105069#p105069 which includes that as well. It actually specially mentions this in the text printed. To omit...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
Here is a list of bugs that I have reported for which no decision was communicated whether they will be fixed, won't be fixed, will be fixed during a future development iteration, or are not bugs at all. Assembled in one post as a reminder that they still exist. General problems: 1. config.window_hi...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
...figured that bloody one out. The screen name called for a yes-no prompt for most of the code is " yesno_prompt ". That is, everything I have so far found except the code that calls for a quit prompt when the OS close window button is clicked. That one calls a screen named " yesno " for an unclear...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
Can you give some example code? I'd like to at least see what's going on here for you. It's not that bad for me. Here. It's extremely annoying when the 640x480 project is zoomed up to the entire 1920x1200 monitor. Pardon me if I'm not suitably polite without me noticing, but that fix is worse than ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
The first is the fix to the upscaling of texture coordinates. Previously, in some cases we could sample a pixel inside a texture that wasn't defined. This could lead to some artifacts when upscaling, including 1-pixel-tall lines between boxes, and surrounding the screen. This was fixed by slightly ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
The second major change is a change in focus behavior. Previously, unhovered would be called at the start of each interaction, which made it overly easy to send the system into focus loops. Now, it's only called when a displayable loses focus due to user interaction. Please let me know if this caus...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
Can confirm the grey line. In fact, on extreme zooms (480=>1200, which is the fullscreen on my 1920x1200 monitor) small errors seem to crop up which cause edges of images to be off by one real , rather than native, pixel, readily visible when I'm overlaying a fullscreen transparent image over a scen...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
Cute little bug. Hard to make a reproduction example for, because of the proportional fonts. (that is, I can show the code but that would involve uploading the font and a lengthy definition of my font parameters to hit on a specific case) NVL mode, character object has a defined what_suffix (a Unico...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
NVL mode needs more love. init: $ e = Character('Eileen', color="#c8ffc8", kind=nvl) image bg red = Solid("#f00") image bg blue = Solid("#00f") python: config.window_hide_transition = pixellate config.window_show_transition = pixellate label start: scene bg red e "In this example, the NVL window is ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
...and another one. When I define a "screen yesno_prompt" all the yes-no prompts resulting from screens that I have overridden conform to the defined screen. Except the one yes-no prompt that results from clicking the OS window close button. That stays default as it was and won't change. Ways to ove...

Re: Ren'Py 6.11.0 Public Pre-Release
I think that's another bug. The following piece of code produces a RenPy that does not react to user input, including the window close button provided by the OS. You end up having to kill the task. Commenting out the "unhovered Hide("tooltip")" makes it work as expected (but without removing the scr...

Re: Novel mode: style.nvl_vbox.box_spacing
The cause is apparently a bug in RenPy, "window hide" and "window show" don't play nice with NVL mode. See also this bug report. Replacing "window hide" and "window show" with the scarcely documented "nvl hide <transition>" and "nvl show <transition>" until the fix comes out (or forever) seems to be...
