Word: for writing.
Onenote: for planning, webbing, mapping, etc.
Inkscape: for art, although I have only scratched the surface level of its capabilities. I downloaded Gimp once, and it was scary.
Picasa: for photo viewing/editing.

Yay, this looks just as cute as the first game!
I like Valen's character...she's a little spitfire (unlike most generic game heroines).
She has a very defined personality, which (to me) is always a plus.
My favorite is Raven...but then, I always like the smart ones.
I hope your exams go/went well.

I hope you continue working on this project if/when you have time, because I'd be very interested to see how it turns out.
