Re: (WIP) World Academy - Version Gilbo

Wow, the art looks great, but this sounds like a very ambitious game, so make sure you keep the work doable. (From my understanding, games of this size often take years to develop.) I hope you do the source material justice...but based on what you've said about your game, I'm sure you will. Axis Pow...

Re: Writing: Scenes always end up too short?

I have the opposite problem: my scenes end up too long and verbose. You can probably tell by the length of this post that I tend to ramble, which is much more of an issue than short scenes. I actually don't see short scenes as a problem, unless they fail to fulfill their purpose. Maybe that's becaus...

Re: thetower. (a 1st practice run at ren'py)

I've been meaning to play this for a while, and I must say, it was really awesome.
I loved the minimalistic graphics. They kind of reminded me of the early abstractionists. So creepy and effective.
The piece itself was really interesting too. It felt very dark and Freudian. Overall, excellent work!

Re: 'Nice Day' - short kinetic novel

That was a really sweet story. I liked that you didn't use any character images and just let the words/story speak for themselves. And I think that, to some degree, everyone above the age of 12 can relate to the unrequited crush. The fact that you didn't go into a lot of detail about Rachel herself,...

Re: First person writing

Real writers use third person. I fail to see how this is true. Think: Stephenie Meyer That's not true at all. What about William Faulkner, Mark Twain, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jack Kerouac, J.D. Salinger, and a slew of other "real writers" that employed first-person? It's not at all fair to discredit a...

Re: Untitled GxB game

Japanese people don't kiss! :3 Seriously though, kissing is associated with having sex, so a hug is more common. *japan-o-nerd* This is true of Bollywood movies too (which my parents watch all the time--the virtues of being a second-generation immigrant). Until very recently, there was no kissing/s...

Re: Untitled GxB game

Wow! This is the first time I see a kiss in the main menu. And I adore those buttons! Keep up the good work! Yeah, I was thinking it might be a little weird, especially since I don't even have a context for this scene in the game...and I haven't drawn or even planned to draw any other kisses so far...

Re: Untitled GxB game

All right, I guess I'm a little overdue for an update...(And I'm still recovering from the shock of the realization that I have final exams next week, so I'll be taking a little time off. ;)) First of all, thank you all so much for your belief in me. I wouldn't be able to do this without your suppor...

Re: The 25th Hour

Well, I spread the ten exams out over all four years of high school instead of lumping them all into junior and senior years. A lot of my friends were taking 7-8 exams in one year. That's suicidal. Even taking five next year is probably going to be pretty intense for you. I've taken the three exams ...

Re: [WIP]『 black butterfly 』

Wah, the new sprites are very beautiful, and still capture the attitudes of the characters in the originals. And I love the style...I'm jealous. ;) And I'm happy to hear that the writing is going well too!

Re: The 25th Hour

Ah, AP testing. I remember those days (mostly because it was just one year ago that I finished my last ones). Can I ask which exams you're taking? I took just ten over my high school career, and that was enough to get me 60+ college credits, so it really is worth it to study hard! I can't really com...
