Re: Are there any creator that manages to live off of their Visual Novels output? If yes, who?
Since January 7th I've been trying to get a version onto steam, it's been a white-kunckle experience. Does your game marked as Adults Only? It is a lot easier to pass Steam moderators with this status, even if your game does not have any adult content. Also, Steam is very sensitive to "underage" ch...

Re: Are there any creator that manages to live off of their Visual Novels output? If yes, who?
BTW, I checked out your itch.io, and downloaded your visual novel to check out. :D I notice that you have a variety of game types that you have created. Has the Visual Novel been the one you have found success with, and that is why you are growing the Patreon with it? My Patreon is for the Winning ...

Re: Are there any creator that manages to live off of their Visual Novels output? If yes, who?
This is an interesting route! Is this what you are doing? What is a good approach to introduce players of the free game to consider the Patreon subscription? Can you mention a few examples that you believe are doing this method well, so I could study their business model? This is in fact what I'm d...

Re: How to build a randomized dialogue menu with images
I gave that a go and I got this error: While running game code: File "game/script.rpy", line 47, in script call screen img_menu File "renpy/common/000statements.rpy", line 531, in execute_call_screen store._return = renpy.call_screen(name, *args, **kwargs) File "game/script.rpy", line 22, in execute...

Re: How to build a randomized dialogue menu with images
Can you walk me through how each of these parts work? I'm understanding maybe 60% aha Also, would I be able to have a screen where players can add or remove cats from a list? Think like a jukebox, where you can add stuff to a playlist or remove, and when its played it gets put on the bottom or somet...

How to build a randomized dialogue menu with images
I'm looking to build a game where a player's menu responses instead of popping up with the text box, pop up with images, and images would be clickable buttons that progress the story. Here's the kicker, I want the images that are chosen to be randomly chosen from a list that the player can manage an...

Re: Are there any creator that manages to live off of their Visual Novels output? If yes, who?
My two cents: Most of the income from these products come from having a free version that works as a marketing funnel towards a Patreon subscription. Where a playable, but feature incomplete game, can slowly add more content and patrons get new content released semi regularly and stay on as supporte...

Looks good to me, I had a go at it and it seems like the average person won't be able to cheat that way, so thanks for the help!

[Solved] Is there a way to stop users from accessing script.rpy?
I'm currently building a puzzle game, and I want the players to be forced to figure it out, rather than just opening the script and reading through the data. Is there a way to stop users from accessing the script.rpy?

[Solved] How to make the player delete a save in-game.
I'm working on a project that's a puzzle game, and part of it is that the character dies and the game ends, if you've made a mistake. I don't want players to be able to just reload the save, or wind back a few steps. Is there a code I can put in to make it force the player to start from scratch if t...
