Re: How can I stop making sexist games?

Really, I still don't quite get what I'm doing wrong. "Nothing" is a possible answer. The problem with feminism is that there are some extreme parties who invalidate any dissenting opinion with "privilege", and who cry "misogyny" at every step when a man says anything; misandry seems to run strong ...

On the topic of an editor: I've got an editor. Thanks all the others for their interest, and I'm sorry if I haven't been very forthcoming with communication; was also planning for a short weekend retreat! On the topic of music: We're still looking for someone to compose tracks, and I stress we would...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

I study law. If I say so myself, I'm a pretty good student of law and have a good grasp of what is going on. In Europe, we have codified law, meaning there's a book with all these laws written down, and it even features definitions for some crimes. One of these crimes is theft. Someone asks me, "If ...

Re: Welcome to the new Recruitment & Services Offered

"Free projects" are those where the only compensation for the production team is the joy of having completed a project together. So, Choco and I are offering a skill trade for the areas we're not able to do ourselves. So there's compensation, but not monetary. Where do we fall under? It's under Fre...

Re: Ens Causa Sui; Looking for editor and music expert.

Choco and I are rather excited by the idea of getting it voice acted, but we'd probably need a VA for each character, or else it'll feel weird. There's three characters, each of which are featured in the writing example linked above. For the most part, the Friend is a soft-spoken Asian girl, God is...

Re: Welcome to the new Recruitment & Services Offered

For some reason it says this announcement is in the Group Plays section. I echo that it's odd there's a special section for Commercial projects willing to pay, but not so for Free projects. Just because the final product is available free of charge doesn't always mean the project is made at no funds...

Re: Ens Causa Sui; Looking for editor and music expert.

Hello! Thanks for the interest in editing. I goofed up and forgot to add relevant samples of the writing, so editors know what they have to work with. I've therefore included a link at the top of the recruitment post. While I still intend to go through all the writing to make the characters always s...

Hold on, Ens Causa Sui? Hi! I'll link you to our thread immediately: Ens Causa Sui WIP thread Update: In the interest of showing editors my work, here's the first part of Scene I. Writing is completely devoid of narration, and I'm relying entirely on dialogue, art and sounds to bring across ideas: ...

Re: Ens Causa Sui [kinetic, bildung, short]

Writing: Done! Well, mostly done. I'm going to have to do some preliminary editing myself, and then find someone to do a more thorough look-over. It feels rather good that the 'only' thing we're going to need now are creative assets! Generously the story adds up to about ~4,200 words right now, whic...

Re: Ens Causa Sui [kinetic, bildung, short]

Do you guys happen to be Haruhi Suzumiya fans? Chocojax and I discussed the idea and concept of the story at length, and between the two of us, I think we came up with an idea that's distinct and won't invoke Suzumiya Haruhism. The strongest similarity is probably the eccentric girl proclaiming to ...

Re: Is anime on its death bed?

So, does anyone else feel like the anime industry is dropping off a cliff, with industry veterans having to resort to Kickstarter just to get funded? It's a new company, of course it'll need money. Using Kickstarter can mean anything, from wanting to have creative freedom in how to make your anime ...

Personally, I'd be interested in seeing at least one character be old fashioned and duke it out in British court dress. Maybe I'm one of the weirdos enamoured by tradition, though. I've been following the project for a while but deigned not to back because it felt far too similar to the AA series (a...

Re: Re-writes

Usually what I do is write the story, wait a month or two, trash the story and rewrite it, wait another month or two, trash and rewrite it again, then let someone else read it. Usually by then I also think it's not worth making a VN out of, or publishing at all. I typically refuse to let myself tras...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

I threw out five months of work out the window, and I haven't felt this refreshed and relieved in ages.

Working on it again, I've managed to condense it a lot. At some point, I felt like I hated writing parts of the work, but now I've cut all those scenes from the outline. Feels good.
