Re: Nice Day:again

Hello Macchus! I have added Nice Day:again to replace the old entry at Renai.us. It's pending approval, which I do not know if it requires it to permit downloads, but there you have it. Thanks for the (return) interest! A link is here . As for xxxSakura, I am sorry that I do not know what could have...

Re: Dealing with Writers (What works and what doesn't)

We recognise two sorts of motivation: intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. What you want is an author intrinsically motivated to write a story that you would want to draw. An author that must be extrinsically motivated, whether by money, promises of fame or continuous badgering is someone ...

Re: Nice Day:again

Hello! Thank you for your comments, I appreciate them greatly.

It is funny you should mention the art. I had started out with the ambitious idea to use nothing but CGs for the story; I was soon enough cured of that ambition, ha ha!

I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. :-)

Nice Day:again

Hello! It's been quite a while since I last posted in this particular area. Nearly a year ago, in fact , which saddens me greatly. In that time I have attempted to write another visual novel, progress of which is at a snail's pace. In the mean time, I worked on the Visual Novel I already released. L...

Main Menu Editing

Hello! It's been quite a while since I did anything Ren'Py related, but after much negotation and talks, I have a project I can (re)release soon. There's just one issue: in my pursuit of shiny, I decided I want to try and use a custom main screen. I think this is done by imagemapping, where the menu...

Re: Talents (NaNoReNo WIP)

Oh, you're not aware of it? Haha, then it is simply an amusing coincidence. I'd be interested to read this regardless.

D:< THIS COULD HAPPEN YOU KNOW. (it's cutting off the image, sadfays, so this'll stay in 640x480. I'll consider a compromise in 640x400 for the NaNo project...!)

Re: NaNoRenO for 2011!!!!

But but but. 640x480 is godly resolution and I don't like the massive letters people use in their modren VNs.

If I finish a novel for this, it'll be in 640x480!

Re: Past or present tense

Writing in past and present tense is indeed different. It's quite possible to write an engaging story in the present tense, but it follows different rules from stories in the past tense - I wouldn't say it's required to write in past tense as that disconnects the reader a little more from the story,...

Re: Eyes of a Dead Fish

I'm just part of the school of thought that says "don't describe more than is necessary", so that's where that comes from. Having a narrator describe things he couldn't see as though he saw them is always a bit awkward in first person narration. Try to avoid it in the future. There are two ways to n...

Re: Eyes of a Dead Fish

It wasn't a bad story. I liked the music, and the drawings were nice as well. I don't share the others' observation that it was jarring or anything similar. I had a few issues with the over-descriptive nature of the writing, though, and you swapped tense once or twice in the story. Where some may pr...

Re: Visual novel /potentially/ in development :D

I think you should write something that you feel is worth writing; not something others would like to see. If you want to see your story written, there's a better chance of you actually finishing it. Worry over whether others'll want to read it once you're done writing.
