Re: Interactive Fiction Writers Critique Group
Hi Susan, I was just surprised at how similar the title of the thread looked: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=7313 I hope that a strict deadline would make this work (my attempt failed at its intended function). The only thing I'm wondering is, since I have never used Google Gr...

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?
A modern world similar to this world but the difference is magic exists and you get to attend a magical school just to train your powers. So basically, something like Harry Potter but the difference is everyone gets to have magic powers so there would be no Muggles or something like that. Oh, and a...

Re: BG Critique?
lol by "invest time" I mean to simply learn the concept, because practice is not that relevant with perspective. If you understand it, you simply apply it to everything and continue drawing like usual. It's one of the few art "techniques" that you really can get right on the first try if you underst...

Re: BG Critique?
Perspective would seem to be the thing that you should invest a bit of time in, as it would be extremely efficient (simple to learn, makes bg much better; high benefit/cost ratio
)

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?
I don't know about the "communist ideal". And to to be honest I don't care about it either. So, yes! You are mistaken. I asked if you were stating the communist ideal. In the case that you were, it would speed up the discussion as we would be able to use our prior knowledge of communist theory inst...

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?
@Chrizine - this concept needs ppl to have the ability to envision the consequences if money is completely removed from the system, or society. Ppl are so focussed on money in this world that it has become such an integral part of their lives that they can barely perceive any alternatives of living...

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?
As for me, while I enjoy fantasy, a high-tech transhumanist world is more reliable and allows you to fake most of the magic you'd want anyway. :) Brain uploading, body swapping, and full-immersion virtual reality means I can have access to an enormous range of experiences while being fairly well in...

Re: Which one is better, real history or alternate history?
You seem to have made up your mind already, so I think that I'm a bit late. My recommendation, though, is that rather than asking us you should survey your market to find out which would sell better. In other words, survey the people that are going to be your potential buyers to find out if they wo...

Re: rageQQ : a nerdy otome game [WIP]
there's an option to choose which race the main character will play, although it doesn't really affect the story so much; I just thought'd it'd be a cute little thing It would take more work of course, but I think it would be funny to have the player race to have some role... Isaac plays Zerg, Lond...

Re: Giving criticsm on a work, when not an expert
Experience is not necessarily related to the validity of a statement, for reasons mentioned in the previous posts. So...judge criticism on an a case-by-case basis? But if you cannot do that for some reason, then I suppose a good heuristic approach would be to give less weight the critiques of the le...

Re: I need help with arm folds
I think the main thing is that your forearm structure itself is off. The forearm tapers as it goes to the wrist, with the greater mass near the elbow joint. Of course, this is more evident when not covered by sleeves, and vice versa. In your example, the upper left and bottom right pictures don't lo...

Re: Which one is better, real history or alternate history?
By inconsistency I mean its compatibility with reality. You can have your magic system without internal paradoxes, but you can still throw in whatever magic power at whatever time you like, if you can make up a good enough excuse. And even if there is no good excuse, it is still easily handwaved wit...

Re: Which one is better, real history or alternate history?
I don't see the point of having mecha in WWII. Can you explain? Regarding the other question: I will second the point made in the previous posts that Alternate is probably more workable. Otherwise if some inconsistency is spotted...then you might have some trouble. I think it's better not to risk it...
