Based on the scale above, I guess I'm officially "Old as the Hills" since I turn 45 on Sunday.

Excuse me while I go find a mouse with a walker attached

Weekly Status Update 11-18 to 11-24 Finished all the character art this week, and did add some more customized backgrounds to cover sunset and evening backgrounds. Am surprised that given the variety of backgrounds out there that so few have sunset or evening skies. In fact, the only ones of the gen...

However, I was also thinking of Chris Crawford's StoryTron , which will probably prove to be the most powerful tool for Interactive Storytelling when it's finally finished. You horrible... horrible person. Do you realize what you've done? You made me go look at that tool, and now I am going to have...

I'm personally "into" option 0. Now, that probably comes from having a programming background to begin with, and so learning RenPy has generally been a case of learning a new syntax. But I think for the truly casual user, or the author/team that wants to build a game and not have to even "see" somet...

OK, went with the slightly easier version to try out some techniques, and this looks much more like what I was hoping for. Let me know if you agree...

Well, it's sounding like I may be a bit of the example of truly different paths. Of course, if four hours defines "commercial", then I have to wonder if this will get taken more seriously. As a major example of what I'm doing... (Note - this is a spoiler for the game, if you think you may play it, y...

Length of title - What is good? How do you determine?

Question comes up because I'm starting to wonder if there's such a thing as too long a story. For my current one, I'm a little past the 10% point (in my opinion), and each of the branches is taking at least 5 minutes. Taking that our for all of the possible endings, and then adding in the bonus feat...

OK, that gives me a few ideas to try out. I'll see what I can do tomorrow, and try to have a better version for y'all to critique then.

Just when I thought I was finally finished with my artwork...

OK, here's what I've done by taking the original image, setting brightness to -127, setting the contrast to 76, using the "Intelligent Scissors Tool" (which lets you select along the lines between colors), and trying to fill in with some appropriate sunset orange and lights coming on colors. Is this...

That all sounds reasonable - except for: why not just pop the theater image off Which appears to be the same problem - i.e. how to select just the theater to pop off. I know it's possible to do something like that. I just have never done it before. In the meantime, I'll be prepping my background sky...

DaFool - Appreciate the offer, but I'm actually looking for an outdoor scene of a theater. I think I've found one, but it suffers from the same problem I'm noticing more as I develop the game - that it has only a daylight version. You would think, particularly for a theater, that there would be suns...

OK folks, can anyone point me to a good "Movie Theater" background? Interestingly enough, none of the generic/free backgrounds I've been able to find so far have a theater. I've come up with a temporary solution (picture that I then applied Gimp's Oilify filter to and then blended a bit), but I susp...

Jake - that was it. Which is why the error message was so confusing since it simply said that there was a missing closing tag. Hence the reason I thought it must be the slash initially.

Of course, that's my just deserts for having a character at a bookshop who's into Philosophy.

Well, it was dying on that line, and I "thought" it was the slash. But looking more closely at the line (I copied it verbatim on here), it turns out it was complaining about something else. Feel free to figure out what :D

FWIW,
