Putting a Backslash into Text

OK, here's one I could use some help with:

Code: Select all

j "Well, {i]Fear and Trembling{/i} is certainly one of his more popular works, but have you ever read {i}Either/Or{/i}?"
Obviously the / between Either/Or needs something. But darned if I can figure out the correct escape sequence.

Help?

See, I'm going down the path of being off topic to my own game... :D What I was thinking of in my comment, is that good ol' Lazarus in that particular novel (Time Enough for Love) had a lot of decision points that you could incorporate into a game without being a total fanfic. For example, imagine y...

EwanG: Sorry, but hijacks happen often (i.e. talking about other projects) I suspect I'll survive  Of course, as far as other ideas, I was interested to see the polyamory idea since I have a friend at work who is in a polyamorous relationship (two couples who share several different ways). The...

One thing I noticed, a several gamemakers are married men, and this begs the question, why make a ren'ai game if you're already married? A) Having managed to convince at least one woman to spend serious time with you makes you believe you might know something about the subject, and then makes you w...

As promised, here are two group pics with your Senior Year idols... :D

Speak now, or assume that this is what you'll be staring at (though there are several different expressions and a few different poses) for several hours when the game is complete...

Weekly Status Update 11-11 to 11-17 Posting a day early because my wife goes in for surgery tomorrow (nothing major), and I probably won't have time to post then. Knowing this was coming up was part of the reason I had hoped to be further along by this point, because I'm unlikely to get much done th...

For anyone who's curious, I have a picture on my main website at http://www.ewangrantham.com. Also in the front of a couple of the books I helped write, but since I doubt anyone has any of the Windows 95 collection of books from SAMS or QUE still at home...

And don't worry about art being harder and being last...that happens to be mostly the case. You can even have the game fully coded. The reason I'm doing art this week (three down, two to go - although those are the two with versions that have and don't have uniforms so it's more like four to go...)...

Re: need vocal songs.... where to look?

I'm in the planning stages of a visual novel and am looking for a few vocal songs. Does anyone know of any good indie music sites where I can scout for music? All sorts of stuff - vocal, instrumental, etc at: ccmixter.org All of it is under some type of Creative Commons license, which can range fro...

I agree with Mikey. I think that if you have to scale down your idea to fit what you can do, it's not the worst thing in the world. First off, you may force yourself to develop some skills you didn't know you have (I know I'm a lot more confident with my basic graphics skills since realizing I was g...

Weekly Status Report - 11/3/06 - 11/10/06 Well, as hoped, I did manage to get the story coded to the point that I have introduced all the characters except Annette. Unfortunately, I now think that's probably closer to 10% of the coding rather than 20%. On the plus side, I have enough of the harder t...
