Customizing the save/load/menu screens

How do you customize the layouts of the menu screens? (Save, Load, configuration/options, etc..). What .rpy file contains this information? Or is this something I have to create from scratch? Are there any templates or something that I can start from?

Re: Minigames

Couldn't you do anything Python could do? You can use PyGame more or less directly through Ren'Py, so the short answer is 'yes'. But you can also do a lot of stuff just through Ren'Py's API, which is preferrable on the whole as it's a lot simpler and Ren'Py abstracts away a lot of the hassle of gam...

Re: Begginer asking for advice

If you intend on using Ren'Py to make your VN and you've never used the program before, I suggest playing around with the program first before attempting any sort of full-blown games with it. There are lots of small games available to check out at the renpy.org to get some ideas, also.

Re: RenPy 6.11.0: 'return' outside function [KIND OF FIXED]

Oh, I still indent my code the old fashioned way. It's just that sometimes, the program gets so fickle about an indentation that's off by an inch and I get some crazy error for it @_@

Re: Elven Relations - v1.1 released!

If you think you can make a better game, then stop criticizing others and do it. Then we can talk. While I understand where you come from with that comment, I don't agree. It doesn't take someone who has some games under their belt to criticise a game, anyone is free to express their opinion. The p...

Re: Minigames

So I take it these minigames are implemented using the Pygame framework, then? Basically, you create the game using Pygame and import it into the Ren'Py game?

Re: RPG Maker (for mac and windows)

All of the official RPG Maker engines made by Enterbrain/ASCii are only compatible with Windows. There are other RPG engines out there that are probably Mac-friendly.

Re: RenPy 6.11.0: 'return' outside function [KIND OF FIXED]

I've been using Jedit, but sometimes it will automatically indent too much or too little (especially if I delete lines of code), and I have to figure out how much to get the indents right x_x is there a way to make it so that it will automatically indent the right amount of spaces no matter what? ca...

Re: Indie game pricing rambles

Really, playtime depends on the person who's playing it. That's why when people ask me 'how long does it take to finish your game' I say 'it depends on the player.' If all you're going to do is scroll through the dialog and not read it, then of course it will take you considerably shorter to finish ...

Re: RenPy 6.11.0: 'return' outside function [KIND OF FIXED]

Is that a Python thing or something? I can't believe I get syntax errors for not indenting! Is there a program or something that anyone recommends that will do the appropriate indentations for Python to be happy?

Re: (Otome Game)Yo-Jin-Bo The Bodyguards : Unmei no Freude

I just now noticed the dialog in the screenshots o.o is that the direct translation from the Japanese version? was it intended to be full of humor and puns? (and a rock track?)
