Re: Need volunteers for a fully voiced visual novel!
I'm not sure if my voice is ok but I've been waiting for a post like this. It's like acting without having to step onto the stage (I <3 acting but have a bit of stage fright) ^^ Though at the moment I don't have a decent mic:/ nor much experience. But if anyone could point me in the direction of an ...

Re: GxB Superpowers questionnaire >_>
Part I Heroin is a drug, so of course I wouldn't keep playing >:C Depends on her reasons for being a killer. If the reasons are justified, then yes. (Not part of the survey) I suggest you drown yourself in other superhero works. If you haven't watched Tiger and Bunny yet, then THOU MUST. It's a dec...

GxB Superpowers questionnaire >_>
I finally settled on an idea for an otome game I want to make. I've decided to just discard any test game ideas, and to just start on the real thing as it motivates me much more to do my best (and I can always make a demo as a test game, right?).... I know it's not really recommended to start with a...

Re: drawing for beginners - resources?
Basically what everyone else has already said. I've flipped through some of Loomis' books and they're really nice. If you're feeling a bit intimidated, 'Fun With A Pencil' by him is great, the tone he uses is so light and well...fun ^_^. Most of his books have gone out of print, though it seems they...

Re: Options for The Art-Impaired
Now I'm interested in drawing. *NEXT GAME GETS PUSHED BACK A YEAR* I don't even know how to get started though. One book I can definitely recommend is 'Drawing on the right side of the brain' ( isbn 0874774241 ). There's a lot of psycho babble in there, but it's a *great* place to start. I went fro...

Re: Using dolls as 'sprites' ?
That star wars video is so awesome! Hikki, I don't own any Nendoroids:( But, that would be a great idea lol. The only disadvantage would be that they're basically all anime/manga characters and I think it might be hard for people to seperate the character from the anime/manga from the one you're try...

Re: A game with a faceless, genderless protagonist?
I find that faceless protagonists come off as creeps ( boy or girl) for some reason ( in CGs and stuff). It just doesn't feel right to me. I don't really care about looks/gender, but a face to identify the protagonist with is very important to me. But that's just personal preference . If you think i...

Re: ebi's quest to awesome game making [please critique]
So... for the short test game, I (thank goodness) still have the script up until day two... But.. I threw away all my flow charts >_< NICE. And I'll have to refresh my memory a bit with renpy:\ Everything looks a bit alien to me now, while back then my thoughts were: PFFFT as long as I have my flow ...

Re: Hakuouki PSP confirmed for localization
( why do localizations bring destruction to game companies? Maybe I'm really dumb, but...I don't understand).

I wish it'd come out for PS3.
But I'll probably buy it anyway
The survey was really cute haha. I put 'swords' just to be sure ^_-

Re: Using dolls as 'sprites' ?
Thanks for the input guys! Kosetsu, I would most likely use poseable dolls, so I could play with body language a bit. Greeny, I never even thought of that! That would be really cute. The idea is very tempting, but here's a few cons: - The characters end up looking all the same, not matter how differ...

Re: Would it be weird to make a BxG game for girls?
I would totally totally play it (i actually sometimes think how fun it would be to play such a game)! Especially with your adorable art in it. Also, there are always going to be people who will be turned off by something( like how some people HATE cupcakes :0), so I wouldn't worry too much about ple...

Using dolls as 'sprites' ?
Since I can't draw at the moment ( and even if I could, it'd suck right now :P ) but still want to be able to make a visual novel ( or at least a demo ), I thought it would be fun to use dolls ( e.g. Obitsu dolls or Pullip or Barbie) for character sprites. Expressions would be a bit uhm...nonexisten...

Re: Any ideas for introducing an anti-social character?
Maybe these'll give you some ideas.... I do agree that if you're anti-social, friendships will probably be forced upon you or they come into existence because you have something in common with the other person. I don't agree that that means that ditzy/liad back people are out of the question. -In a ...
