Re: What do you consider to be good writing?
Good writing to me absolutely MUST balance the casual/conversational and formal tones. A piece of writing without any "flowery" (bad choice of word: elaborate, but not decadent) language can't evoke emotion and may sound juvenile. On the other hand, new writers who are confident in the language tend...

How the heck did "Blue Lemma" become a name anyway? A "lemma" is a mathematical subproof...

Re: Western Animation
I'm not a big South Park fan, but South Park described my opinion on Family Guy perfectly . (NSFW, not the clip but the video site, couldn't find it on youtube.) Anyone remember "Road to El Dorado" with Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Kline? That movie is gold... literally, of course. EDIT: And while I'm ...

But keep to public places where there are lots of people and don't be alone with him for now, just in case. And here we have all the advice we SHOULD have given from the get-go. When you're young, especially if there's something unsettling about the guy (so unsettling that it drives you to post in ...

Re: Languages!
Funny, because I had a boyfriend 1+ who loved it when I used accents I didn't say "all guys", I meant guys who laugh when they hear the accents. My girlfriend tries voice acting all the time, and it's just funny to me... no kicks there. She does a pretty good GLaDOS though, with a little auto-tune ...

Re: Your time for money? Is it right??
@AuCN: I know you aren't trying to be hurtful, and I'm not really offended so much as put off because it's what EVERYONE says :P . I want you to know I have nothing against going with your gut feeling, either. I just think saying "guys who give you the creeps are creepy and you should therefore watc...

Re: Your time for money? Is it right??
PS: "Escorting" is something that traditionally goes hand-in-hand with prostitution, which is why AuCN keeps warning you that the guy might be expecting sex. AuCN hasn't been too great about being clear in this thread, she's used a lot of "you should know what that means". Seriously, AuCN. The girl ...

Re: Your time for money? Is it right??
Why is he weird? Well, me selling my time was at first just a plain joke turned to a serious matter. And I can't imagine him thinking of lewd stuff since he's quite formal when with me and more formal if with others. Well, what do you think about him? It's weird to pay a girl to go out with you. Mo...

Re: Your time for money? Is it right??
It is a hyperbole, yes. I was making a point that males are similar the world over. I know not every male is as dedicated to sex as the next. However it does come as a high priority to most what was it, on average males think about sex every 45 seconds or something? . And you know is is true ;) tho...

Re: Languages!
But I have no complains though. XD (guys like british accent too haha) Not guys who've actually known British people who were so ridiculous that they can't take the accent seriously. My neighbor growing up was this British pothead with a Malaysian wife. One time they were over at my house drinking ...

Don't you think that's just a touch rude?
It's okay, I still love you, but don't be that way. Surely not EVERY male you've ever come across has tried to get in your pants.

Re: Your time for money? Is it right??
Don't try to return or reject the gifts, that's just hurtful. It's not like he can return most of the stuff he bought if it's stuffed animals and flowers. Be straight with the guy. Either say, "This was fun, but it's never going to be more than a job (if you know what I mean)" or, "Look, you don't h...

Re: Visual Novel Survey~!
Nobody is going to read this crap... but I'll answer the ones I care to. How do you feel about Kinetic Novels? A-O-K. Doesn't bother me at all. RPG Elements? Please no. How do you feel about a VN without any minigames? Probably for the best. Not a minigame fan. Sound Effects? SFX = MUST HAVE. How do...

Re: What is your favorite way for a VN to end?
@LWR: I can say for certain that I was not quite clear on what you meant before. Just in case you're still misunderstanding me, let me clarify my own opinion. I'm arguing against endings which raise more questions than they answer about the plot. VNs are iffy, because a credit roll and main menu scr...

Re: Japanese words
@Riviera: No one cares if there's a reason someone uses Japanese BESIDES "the character/author/person is an otaku." I don't go around making fun of Japanese people for speaking Japanese at home, or for that matter for mixing Japanese and English when trying to speak English. But I will make fun of a...
