Re: Asher [Suspense/Supernatural][Download]
I haven't tried out the game yet but I'm looking forward to this project. The art looks wonderful and the story sounds interesting. I love suspense games :]. Thank you! :) ---- Anyway... to everyone generally: I will probably end up using some of the old Asher art in order to complete this project ...

Re: Asher [Suspense/Supernatural][Download]
I find the plot to be somewhat "meh", simply because the whole treasure-hunting supernatural-beast-catching thing kinda comes out of nowhere. Otherwise, however, I really, really like the 1920s vibe for the game. You did a really great job with details! What intrigues me the most (and the reason wh...

Re: TRAP! [ModernFantasy][VN] PG-16!
For me that extra touch of world-building makes the difference between a setting that is generic and one that feels like it actually exists somewhere. :)OokamiKasumi wrote: -- Truth is, I may be pretty good at making characters, but world-building is my Passion. Re: TRAP! [ModernFantasy][VN] PG-16!
Strange--I got a different error, too. "After initialization, but before game start. IOError: Couldn't find file 'icon256.png'." I am using Ubuntu Linux... not sure if that makes a difference. Anyway, after I put a icon256.png in the game folder it works. Playing now! It's beautiful so far. EDIT: Ap...

Re: Name menu going down after second line
Hm. Why modify the say screen instead of changing the styles settings for the namebox? Such as: style.say_who_window.background = "namebox.png" style.say_who_window.bottom_padding = 8 And so on. For this you'll also want to set the show_two_window to True for characters who use a namebox. See this l...

Re: Advertising without spamming
Offer real content wherever you promote the game. Show a trailer when it's possible and showcase the game itself--i.e., with an image or poster that shows what the game is about and what it has to offer--character art, gameplay, etc. A well-designed image or diagram with the features of the game wil...

Re: Adventures of Prince Ivan [VN](Fant/Adv)
I am absolutely thrilled you enjoyed my work. Thank you. Showed it to someone else the other day. He kept telling me that he was glad I showed it to him (and he is usually not prone to excitement) and that the characters really stayed with him. I think it took him by surprise, because it's a free g...

Re: ketskari's art
At this stage of the picture it's the underpainting, but yes, it will evolve into sunset type lighting. :)naqlada wrote:The yellow/red plume to the left of the castle - is that smoke, fog, light?

The castle BG from the first post, in-progress.
It's actually farther along than this, but it currently has a mask taped over it that I don't want to remove yet.

Re: ketskari's art [requests open]
You're very welcome and yes, by all means.
As for the characters... I wasn't sure what I was going for? I don't know.. I was just thinking about the eerie landscape and how the man was unfamiliar with "comforting or sorrow". :)

*Rasies hand* Me please haha :) I love your art and can't wait for Asher to come out! Could I get a sketch of The Man from the WIP "All the Pretty Flowers", link in my sig? And if you're game, along with The Child? Why thank you! Reminds me I should probably.. er... be making some progress on Asher...

Re: ketskari's art
* w * Your work is impressive! I hope you'll return to Asher soon, but I'm also liking this new main character. :-3c And I agree! I love painting, but doing lineart + cell shading seems to make the entire spriting process go by much quicker. Tho I do like blending the two styles together too haha. ...
