Re: Ren'Py 6.99.8 Pre-Released

When I tried it, it popped up right of center.

Re: Tell a Demon [Fantasy][Vampires][Historical] Updates!

And final BG for the demo is finished and coded in. Here's Tell in her teens, sporting a nervous bob, which was one hairstyle young women adopted if they were unsure about bobbing their hair back in the day.

Re: Thoughts on "Game Overs"

I enjoy game over endings more when they're consistently clever or funny. I can think of a few text adventures and adventure games that do this, but not many visual novels off the top of my head. Quest for Glory IV comes to mind, when you could always watch the player character get turned into a slu...

Re: Tell a Demon [Fantasy][Vampires][Historical] Updates!

Hello! So I’m wrapping up Act I (and the new and improved demo) now. Won’t try to predict when exactly it will be ready to go, but I think I can safely say soon. My To-Do list has dwindled as follows: Finish up one last bit of background art Code sprites and art into the final scene Do a final pass ...

Re: Helena's Flowers[GxG][Sci-Fi][Battle of Troy]

Downloaded it and played a bit of the beginning, though I plan to play to an ending when I have a chance. It's a really gorgeous game, and I'm already intrigued by the theme. :)

Congrats on the release!

Re: Live Composite vs. contains

You can include the sprite positioning, or any image's positioning, within a contains. For example: image contains_example: contains: "image A" img_align contains: "sprite A" sprite_pos transform sprite_pos: xpos .25 ypos .1 transform img_align: xalign .5 yalign .5

Re: Ren'Py 6.99.6 Released

Hm. It's crashing more often on me, and Ren'Py almost never crashed on me before. Sometimes it will freeze and I'll get the "infinite loop" error even though I haven't been using repeat with ATL. (I've tried reinstalling Ren'py a couple of times, too, since I was getting that problem I was having b...

Re: Which laptop is best suited for Ren'Py?

I have a relative who uses a MacBook Air, and I've tested my VNs on her computer with no problem. So, it would depend on what else you wanted to do; I've found Ren'Py works on everything I've had access to over the past few years (netbooks, some older desktops, etc), but if you ever want to use some...

Ah, I see, I'll try that next. Sorry--haven't had this problem before so didn't think to try that. Thanks.

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Reinstalling worked, but now I get an error when setting either Editra or JEdit as the text editor:

"An error has occurred:
ValueError: No JSON object could be decoded"

Re: Ren'Py 6.99 Released

Saw this after I updated to the latest pre-release, when checking lint: Ren'Py 6.99.6.727 lint report, generated at: Tue Sep 08 18:37:09 2015 lib/windows-i686/00definitions.rpyc:333 'define fade' replaces a Ren'Py built-in name, which may cause problems. lib/windows-i686/00definitions.rpyc:334 'defi...

Re: Help: Drawing programs for non-graphical tablet

I tried Krita recently, and found its interface fairly straightforward. The last version I had of Corel Painter (X) had an interface designed with traditional painters in mind (there's a mixing palette). That might be worth a look. Have you gone through tutorials for any of the software you've tried...

Been drawing the same sort of thing all week, so it was nice to take a break and do something a little different.

Re: In Need of Team Tips

You might have some more luck if you make a portfolio or more samples available. Summaries are a poor way to tell how a finished story is going to look, and you're more likely to attract reliable or more invested team members if they can look at your other VNs, long excerpts, short stories, twines o...
