Re: Resuming writing on an unfinished project?
Mh, If I pick up an old idea, I first look at what I have and then reshape it into a better one. My advice: first look at the stuff you did back then. If it's only the script: re-read it now with a fresh look on things and ask yourself if it's good or if it needs to be revised and where (make notes)...

Re: For GxB game. Do you prefer a side image or no side imag
I know, bumping an old topic, but this is related: I'm considering having voice acting in my game. Voiced protagonist or no? Depends on what kind of VN you're making. If it's a dating sim-ish game where 'you' are the character or it is heavily implied that you can see yourself as the MC. E.g. when ...

Re: Questions about commission-able ppl's info
1. I think this is completely fine ;p. Aren't credits in (commercial) VNs/games also meant to expose people like musicians who then get a better image = more work? 2. Anyone who gives you personal information about the people they worked with without asking them first , is kind of a douche in my opi...

Re: Magazine article about Ren'Py in German language
Ah, the advantages of being Dutch :D~ Though I doubt I'll see anything like this in Dutch soon.
Anyway, that's pretty cool! The article itself was interesting too and nicely stated its references, I skimmed it a little. It looks like they also had a mini interview with Pytom haha.

Re: How do you create variations for a picture?
You basically mess around until it looks right, which might vary from picture to picture. This wasn't a very neutral picture though ^^;. It's not perfect, but I added some layers and changed the layer mode and opacity of the layers. Download the zip to get my .psd files and see for yourself what I d...

Re: What is your opinion about minigames in VN's?
I dislike mini-games in VNs a lot, though not just there. As others said it can be annoying in an RPG too. However, if they're optional (for example, you get a mini game as extra content after you finish) or if the game is about mini-games it's not that bad. Mario Party only uses mini games, but tha...

Re: Room of the Soul (working title)
The thing is: It is really against the nature to end your own life. And that is something that makes it very complicated when you are about to do it. I've read from many people who made suicide attempts and even from those who did it in the end that actually doing it is a whole different thing for ...

Re: Room of the Soul (working title)
That sounds nice. Disorders or mental problems like these can be really interesting. To make this not just a bunch of emo-scenes I tried to put it into a thrilling package. I'm glad to read this XD. A pitfall with stories like these is that often writers focus on the drama too much without anything ...

Re: Categorization
I never categorize characters by their personality, but I do categorize them by their roles. "Protagonist" "antagonist" "rival" "mentor figure" "best friend" "love interest" etc. There are no real limitations to how a character looks or acts based on their basic role That sounds more logical :). Th...

Re: Categorization
If you have what looks like a fluffy happy BxG school romance but at the last minute, on every single path, every romantic character does a sudden 180 and kills you/themselves/the entire world, a few players will think this is hilarious but most of them will probably be pissed off, demand their mon...

Re: Sentou Gakuen - Online Visual Novel and MMORPG
Aah, I see. Thanks for answering :). I'm not trying to avoid that question, yes it wont look like a ragnarok online. Sentou Gakuen is a text based mmorpg. They primarily use text to communicate with their players, and are typically played within a web browser. In terms of web based yes it looks like...

Re: Sentou Gakuen - Online Visual Novel and MMORPG
I am really curious and confused at the same time, how exactly does this work ô_ó? Then, just wait the second open registrations. Should be next week  Why avoid the questions? We just want to know more about the game. All you've shown is that it indeed looks like a forum game. A MMORPG is some...

Re: How much time do you dedicate for your VN?
I dedicate a lot of time to my VNs (more than 20 hours a week if there isn't anything big holding me back), which usually leads to a lack of sleep haha. Though when you work in a team you're sometimes waiting for input from others. All in all I also think it depends on how enthusiastic you are for a...

@Sunlit-Dreamer: Aaahh I don't want to be a spoilsport for neither you nor Der Tor, and it's nice to see people having fun while contributing to a project ;), but please be careful with pictures you put online (especially for a yandere app on facebook) - who knows who might see them in the future an...

Re: Free Music
I'm a little pissed off to be honest nobody has replied to my thread in Recruitment. There aren't many composers going about in this community, I might not be top tier but I'm willing to do it for nothing. Maybe they didn't notice it, already have a composer or aren't far enough with their project ...
