Re: How Long Is Long?
Lines of code is a fairly meaningless statistic. VN scripts more commonly measured in numbers of words (excluding code).

Re: Little Busters anime
It was an ok adaptation of the common route, although one hampered by what seemed like a pathetically low budget. The characters routes each had to compress 3 hours of reading into 3 episodes, requiring some sacrifices to make it fit. One thing that really bothered me was how they start hammering on...

Re: is there much difference between those 2 images?
If you want to compare, you can't scale the sprites -- scaling blurs the dithering and aliasing.

The second comparison image is unusable due to being saved as a JPEG. I've experimented with 256-color sprites in the past, but I was never able to get the quality to an acceptable level. You basically have two choices with 256 color PNGs. 1: Sacrifice partial transparency and have horrible aliased ...

Re: Different Visual Novel Genres
I have seen/played several sci-fi themed VN's... but the thing is that most if not nearly all of them were basically space operas. It's not like It's not nice but there is so much that can be done! Cyberpunk, Steampunk, Post-apocaliptic, soft sci-fi... there are really many subgenres that not many ...
