Re: Working Towards 6.14

I would REALLY like to see this fixed in the next release as my new VN is going to rely heavily on tiled maps.

Re: Working Towards 6.14

Basically when the display resolution isn't identical to the 'screen size' settings in the config tile-based maps display with some of the tiles slightly out of position, so you have pixel-wide gaps between them or they are overlapping. That is what I was referring to.

Re: Critique on my Idea or something like it

... That does sound pretty awesome. Working with science like that can be tricky though since it is hard to balance out your rationalizations for everything with entertainment. On one side you end up with shallow plot devices and excuses just for the sake of doing cool stuff - on the other is hard ...

Re: Working Towards 6.14

Will the visual improvements include a precision drawing fix in this next update? Because I would gladly fund work on that.

Re: Critique on my Idea or something like it

Haha Don't hate me ScienceWarrior, but it is a unique take on the zombie apocalypse genre that involves a lot of actual theoretical science that has NOTHING to do with viruses and stuff. In fact, the monsters aren't even really zombies. Just trust me on this, it is not going to be a cliche zombie ga...

Re: future Spriter support in Ren'Py

Oh my God, this would be so amazing if it was hooked up to Ren'Py. Just think of the beautiful animations you could do *dies from sheer awesome overload*

Re: Critique on my Idea or something like it

That's a really interesting premise and I like the idea of the primary game mechanic being relationship building to overcome obstacles. My question about this (and I appreciate your wanting to be vague so you don't need to answer me) is whether\how this mechanic is communicated to the player. Assum...

Critique on my Idea or something like it

My dev team and I have started our BIG project, the game we are going to release commercially. This is no longer going to be a hobby for us and we want this game to be a big indie hitter on Steam. I am project leader, Lead Story Writer, and Lead Programmer and I have a question for you all regarding...

Re: Editra + Ren'Py

Okay, this is weird. The coloring on the if/else etc statements was there on my laptop, but now that I pull up Editra on my desktop the coloring isnt there. Can anyone else replicate this? Edit: PyTom, is the module you developed only Ren'Py centric in terms of the color coding? Does Editra color re...

If you need someone to test the new improved version PyTom, I have lots of free time on my hands since I got laid off from my job. So far it looks promising :)

Re: ATL Transforms

I have a quick question/comment about ATL transitions. I was wondering if there were still limitations from transitioning a sprite from one Z value to another Z value in - say - a Move transition using ATL Transitions? For example, when a guy moves from behind a tree to in front of the tree in one g...

Re: Editra + Ren'Py

I have tested it out and it seems to work for me. As attached as I am to jEdit, Oracle can do some nasty things with licenses if they want to so the move to a open source reliant editor is very wise.

Re: What version of Python is Ren'py written in?

I have another question PyTom. Are the bindings/libraries for DirectX and OpenGL included with the RenPy Distro or do I have to download Python tailored bindings and add them to the distro files?

Re: What version of Python is Ren'py written in?

Ah I see. So if I really wanted a gauranteed compatible module it would be best to tailor it towards Ren'py's environment.

Thanks for the info PyTom :)
