Even so, the authoring, debugging and tweaking have got to be much easier in Blender! (^_^);;
Since Ren'py supports movies now it really seems easier to go that route...

Best way to pause after a pan

So I'm panning most of my event graphics because they look more cinematic that way... However I don't want dialouge to show while I'm panning. What I want is for the pan to complete, come to a stop on the focal point of my scene, then require a click (or auto advance timer) before the dialog is disp...

I love Python.

Whaaaaaaa?! That works?! Spiffy. I think I may start to like the snake as well...

How do I set "two_window" character display as the default?

I assume I don't have to manually insert it in each Character() definition, but it doesn't seem to be a config variable.

Any ideas? Thankies!

Re: best way to do expressions using miniature avatars

PyTom! Please enlighten us! What is the intended usage of ShowingSwitch? What are we missing?! :edit: Wait, no, I'm an idiot. If you were using the mini picture you wouldn't necessarily use "show charaName" because they'd just show up when you had them speak. So you could: show jenny $ jennyMood = h...

Re: best way to do expressions using miniature avatars

Yes exactly.

It's odd because working around the system that way allows me to use normal "show charaName.mood" statements, whereas ConditionSwitch would force me to rewrite my script and put in "show charaName" "charaNameMood = mood" pairs.

Re: filtered background photos

Have you tried Filters>Artisitc Effetcs?

Paint Daubs and Smudge Stick are pretty good for paint-ifying photos.

(But then, I guess there's also situations where the author isn't entirely certain either. At least one of the girls I wrote in MorningStar reacts negatively if the player flatters her and acts obsequiously rather than being honest and forthright; It wasn't specifically put in to make the player re...

Dang, I seem to be incredibly consistent (and slow). I've been logging myself for the last two weeks of writing and it's still pretty much dead at 200-250 words every 30 mins. Guess I can count on 6 wpm. :-P

Re: For Profit?

In general for me Eroge is based on academic / professional interest first, so I am not going to be a large consumer. If I decided I was going to get a good dose of hentai - IF... *cough* not that I necessarily *would* mind you! *cough* - I would look primarily to dojin/manga. My personal feeling is...

Re: A game with a message...?

A message will definitely help redeem your work if it fails at entertainment. I disagree. If you fail as entertainment then a 'message' is just an annoyance. I'd rather get a lecture straight up, than a lecture disguised in bad entertainment. Remember kids, broad sweeping moral generalizations ALWA...
