Re: Multiplayer in Ren'Py
How's a multiplayer visual novel suppsoed to work? Obviously the idea of a multiplayer novel is silly; and by extension, a multiplayer kinetic novel. So the only possible multiplayer elements creep in at the choices. (Or maybe minigames). Would this be a cooperative multiplayer (working together to ...

Re: Choose your own adventure books
Wooaahhh... I remember when I was a kid, I was absolutely addicted to Animorphs... And they had a special "choose your own adventure" novel, if I recall correctly. I also recall dying in it most of the time. XD Two of them - "Alternamorphs," they're called. I had to import them, as they weren't pub...

Re: Choose your own adventure books
I was always happy to picky up a CYOA book when I went to the library, though they only had a few different ones. I've read more of the actual CYOA books than the roleplaying with dice and stuff kind, unless we count Usborne Puzzle Adventures. (Some of which are excellent, and I've been amassing a s...

Re: Professor Layton and the Curious Village
I saw the Penny Arcade cartoon... But I haven't finished Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, Metroid Prime 3 or Super Mario Galaxy yet, so no new games for me for a while.

Re: Morning bright SUNshine [wip]
I'll try searching Valet and Attendant up. Since there will be a maid in the house, I want them to have equal ranks. For simplicity's sake, you could just mention in the story that one's a maid and one's a butler and that they have equal ranks. If a maid had equal rank to a butler, she'd probably h...

Re: Double-Menus.
Well, as PyTom says, it might be easier to forget about trying to define a transition yourself and just using "with hpunch" or "with vpunch" to shale the screen. If you want a Phoenix Wright style game, maybe you should check out what monele did here: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Double-Menus.
This is copied from the cookbook page, right? I'll try it... Okay, this worked for me: First, put the python: import math class Shaker(object): anchors = { 'top' : 0.0, 'center' : 0.5, 'bottom' : 1.0, 'left' : 0.0, 'right' : 1.0, } def __init__(self, start, child, dist): if start is None: start = ch...

Re: Astre@
If the slogan is going to be in French it's probably better to find a French saying that has the right kind of meaning rather than try to translate the English phrase. If I can have a clear explanation of what the saying deeply means, I could try to find the french equivalent (if there is any). It'...

Re: Morning bright SUNshine [wip]
It depends on his duties. "Maid" is a catchall for house maid, parlour maid, kitchen maid, etc. A butler is a pretty different job, really. Maybe you should try "valet." A valet is a personal man-servant, the equivalent of a lady's maid. Or else you could use footman, a male domestic servant who ser...

Tolkien style orcs and goblins (which are really two words for the same thing in Tolkien's works) are actually descended from elves, so it makes sense for them to have a similar skin colour...

i've had this little wisp of an idea in the back of my mind for the longest time, but i don't intend to use it so here it is: the Protagonist wakes up late for school (not necessarily *le groan* high school, this could easily be an elementary school student or whatev). Ok, I know what you're thinki...

Re: Gaming Questions
I don't know whether to count this as "stupidity" or "bad game." When I was younger, I bought a second hand American Football game for my SNES. Now, I know nothing about American Football. It's all very well knowing how which buttons to press, but all I know of the game itself was "it's a bit like r...

1. I'm quite proud of my Donkey Konga bongoing skills. And unlocking every trophy in Supper Smash Brothers Mêlée was quite a feat. 2. Hmm... I don't know. I don't think there's anything I can recall offhand. 3. I don't know... I generally don't dislike things easily. Though some people would say som...
