Re: Tracing Photos
I think tracing photos/photomanipulation is a perfectly valid art in its own right that requires a steady hand/its own set of skills to pull off. Sure it could look flat or lifeless, but so could any other piece from someone not professionally trained. In fact, someone who learns how to take an exis...

Re: The importance of personality
Personality is at least 75% important for me, especially since that is the main way the readers are engaged in a medium that is mostly dialogue. Even quiet characters should have something that draws you to them aside from 'they are the quiet one' or 'they are the good-looking one' or 'they say MOE ...

Yun: Sure. Uh, any particular clothing? http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq3/MusketeerSage/101911015307.jpg Ladies and gentlemen, I propose that every visual novel on Lemmasoft should have a delinquent character, because badasses are inherently hot/more fun to draw . In order to further this idea ...

Re: Lennonhead's Art Topic
Yeah, I probably picked up the American cartoon influence idea from the MS Paint Adventures-inspired stuff, which in turn is more American-cartoon style. I picked up MSPA as Problem Sleuth was ending myself, so I still have a soft spot for that. Speaking of which, that Problem Sleuth dance is a thin...

The runes have lines on top and bottom enclosing them, but other than that looks good. Thanks!

Re: Omni's Occasionally-Draw-Other-People's-Characters Topic
LSDY: Cool, I'll get to it sometime this week. Death_Hug: Glad you like it, wanted to draw him in 'defending the turf' mode. Tsundere Lightning: Couldn't resist those glorious muttonchops! http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq3/MusketeerSage/101711220539.jpg Decided to add a third delinquent to the ...

Re: Who/What influenced your style of drawing?
Early Final Fantasy (the sprites, not the Amano art), Megaman (original + X), Fire Emblem art circa FE 6/7, FMA, Takeuchi Takashi (or at least his stuff circa Fate/zero). Early Final Fantasy is where I first learned how to design character outfits (lol), Megaman-style eyes were the first kind I real...
