Re: Idolcraft (RPG Maker XP)

^ Thanks. A little known fact is that Idolcraft was inspired not by IdolM@ster (which I still haven't found a chance to play, grrr) but by a very old, very obscure game called Idol Project. The scouting element came from that game, and as you mention, it does seem hard to think of another example of...

Re: Konami and the Tokimeki Memorial Series for boys and gir

I've sniffed some titles from Konami that have struck me as niche. This one for example. It appears to be a visual novel (with mini-games). No one's gonna answer the OP? Then I will: And if ever you have played many games from this company, what game/series struck you the most? It's cliche to name t...

Re: Most precious game in your collection?

Lately it has to be Super Street Fighter 4. Finding it soooo hard to make myself play any other game these days. Exclusivity isn't normal for me though; in the past I've enjoyed many of the games being mentioned in this thread.

Re: Idolcraft (RPG Maker XP)

^ Actually, not really. Nor does confidence affect critical lessons. For the roulette house, I like the idea of limiting the max bet. The downside is that being able to wager a larger sum on your next bet than you did on your last is part of the appeal of gambling. I'm thinking I'll limit the bet to...

Re: Idolcraft (RPG Maker XP)

Good feedback, thanks! Yeah, I don't want to make the game harder as such, just crack down on abuse of the gambling whereby a player can save after each win and go back to a save state whenever they lose. Maybe it would make more sense to have them kick you out if your win-loss record is skewed too ...

Re: Idolcraft (RPG Maker XP)

KimiYoriBaka: Thanks for the glitch report. Roulette house...I knew it was abuse-prone but you convinced me to do something about it. Maybe I'll have the house kick you out and not let you back in if your net gains exceed X. What do you think's a good value for X? 1000 maybe? Endless mode doesn't ha...

Re: Idolcraft (RPG Maker XP)

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that :) Let's see, it's been awhile since I've looked at the game but... 1. Should be able to if you first examine a window on the back (not visible) side of the bus. 2. Yikes, I can't imagine how she got in the wall. She should be in her bed for that event. Do you by any ch...

Re: What makes a story?

And on that note, do you think a story can still hold that special magic if its plot is subpar but the characters are gold? If we're talking about VNs I should think so. The characters are the main draw for VN audiences, are they not? When you look at sites that introduce commercial VNs it's common...

Re: 2d anime character generator

The terms of use, if any, will be in the respective readme file of each custom set. Most of them just say, "feel free to use this however you like", so you probably don't need to worry. To be safe I'd credit the author of each set you use. (I'd do that even if they didn't ask me to) Man, I...

Re: Huge cast, or broken-up sets?

I'm a big fan of the huge cast. As a player I love having so many characters to pursue and juggle that it gives me a headache. As a developer, yeah, it's a different kind of headache. If you can pull it off...

Re: 2d anime character generator

Thanks for the feedback. Truth be told I would prefer character art that looked slightly more mature myself. But that particular template has more available for it than any others out there by far. As a google search shows, you can get an infinite number of distinct characters out of it. There are s...

Re: 2d anime character generator

I've got an idea for a project...someone tell me if it's a good or bad one. I'm thinking about authoring a bishojo dating simulation in which ALL the characters will be generated using K.HMix's character generator using his default template. (I actually discovered this tool independently and was thi...
