Re: What was your first story?
My first story? I think it was 9th grade (my parents forbade me from writing anything but essays as a kid), and I wrote a story about a boy who brought a gun to school. It was inspired by a kid who ACTUALLY brought a gun to our school.

Re: Range of emotions?
This is a difficult question to answer objectively. What I can tell you, however, is that my game is also very emotive and in-depth in terms of characters. As a result, one of my characters has 30 sprites (so far) and the other four main characters aren't far behind him in number. My sprites also ar...

Re: Customizing a menu
I most certainly did do something funky -- I didn't transcribe the code correctly because I was being lazy when I was reading. It works TECHNICALLY now, but now when I hover over a slider, it shows the "hover" image rather than either following the mouse or leaving it at the current settin...

Re: Looking for a Writer, BG/CG Artist (Partially Paid)
I'm reluctant to ask for a specific figure, but I need someone who's willing to write collaboratively at least once a week. Failing that, half a chapter a week would be nice, though the size of a chapter depends on the chapter itself and where the story takes it. I'm not specifically looking for exp...

Re: Customizing a menu
ShippoK - I tried adapting my code to the style you provided, but there was a problem with the 'value' for the sliders. The game claimed that 'value' was not an acceptable piece of code. Then I changed it to 'action' and the game actually started, but attempting to click on the slider resulted in: I...

Customizing a menu
Somehow, I knew it would come to this. The person who agreed to do my UI hasn't contacted me in a very long time, so I thought, "Hey, Gear, let's do our own UI!" Yeah, this is turning into a mistake. I used the tutorial on the wiki to put this little gem together: screen preferences: init ...

Re: Looking for a Writer, BG/CG Artist (Partially Paid)
I added it, though my main goal is to get people to make as many as they're willing until they pass out from exhaustion get tired of working with me. I highly doubt I'll get anyone to do them ALL. As a side note, I've added a position as a writer, though we could probably use two to be safe. IF YOU'...

Re: Pick the forum members' brains for your game :)
I have no answers, but I have a question that I'm not sure anyone can answer. But I suppose I'll give it a shot. There is a theory (haven't researched its more recent validity) that the reason green is at the center of the visible color spectrum is because the Earth's primary color is green, and our...

Re: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
The Vita was a disappointment to me, but I've always considered Nintendo's handhelds my favorites. That's due in no small part to my fandom of Pokémon, though Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright really pushed the bar for me.

Re: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
You don't have a 3DS? I haven't bought a Wii U yet, but after Fire Emblem: Awakening, the 3DS has already paid for itself for me.

Re: Writing a TV show: will this work?
I didn't know wine could stain your body. TV-wise, I think most of the viewers you would WANT watching your show wouldn't be put off -- look at Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Very well-liked character because of his depth and complexity, but has a huge scar over one of his eyes. Didn't mess him...

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
Far be it from me to go all fanboy about something (that is such a lie), but I just saw the English trailer for the new Ace Attorney game . In an interesting move, Capcom has decided NOT to release the game in physical format internationally, but rather have it only available from the online shop fo...

Re: This needs an artist's touch - my shading is terrible.
That's a good point you bring up; unlike most VNs, my setting generally doesn't change much, so I could use the environment to determine the reflected light color. XP Thanks for helping me! Art stuff that seems so common-sense to artists really flies right over my head. I appreciate you taking the t...
