Re: best way to capture a video from a renpy game.

*To answer a risky question* *Hopefully I do not hijack the thread* I don't really remember. I have the article I read to do it bookmarked. Here . I just eventually let my grandfather do it. Since I was quite new to PC. It did not impact my PC when It was made, but it does now, which is much later i...

Re: Is it posible to redefine image after game start?

*Reiterating r_sami*

There is no real way that is done. Which is why defining two images with separate variables seems to be the only necessary way. So you must wait for someone who knows the code better. If it is even possible.

*Thank you r_sami

Re: Is it posible to redefine image after game start?

*Struggling with a few things
*Assuring it is fine, and just a simple mistake*

Code: Select all

label start:
    image some_pic = 'images/some_pic.png'
    image some_pic2 = 'images/some_pic2.png
That should work for you!

Side note: the game always starts at the start label!

Re: Is it posible to redefine image after game start?

*Uses images in a init block, and then wants to redefine them Hm, well. You can start off by removing them out of the block, not sure why you need that. Then you can use images with only a variable attached to the end. Like you have done. Example: image some_pic = 'images/some_pic.png' image some_pi...

Re: Protect .rpa and .rpyc from unpackers and decompilers

*Thinks protecting against hackers will work I am afraid to say; it will always be a battle sorely lost. *Remembering other events in the past week* You can however DRM creatively. If you're good enough. If it is possible with python. That is probably the best way to get back at thieves and crooks. ...

Re: best way to capture a video from a renpy game.

Holey Moley! That is a lot of monitors! If it's any consolation, I can stream with one monitor using OBS. *Is conforming to be PC peasant *Just kidding, it doesn't matter* Yeah I can use one, but I do so much. Program, art, writing, and watching/playing the games I work on(or buy). I run so much st...

My T.V. plus four monitors. All the gaming goes on the Tele, and everything else is on the others. (With no specific category.)

Oh, the stretch image thing. Right click the video box, under the transform tab. That is where you want to go for that.

Re: best way to capture a video from a renpy game.

*Seems to have a problem with full screen games Have you tried using desktop capture? There are some work around tricks. *Hate to admit this* Back in the day when I played Minecraft. I could not stream/record it directly. So I made it desktop capture and did some editing. Just have to think intuitiv...

Re: Writing long visual novels/Avoiding "Mary Sues"

*Thinking he wasn't supposed to be meta *Thinks about labeling a genre savvy character Most people in Yandere games are constructed metas. Even the Yand themselves. However, if this was an error on his part. Then he does have a few cringe-worthy events. I have always known Yandere games, stories, an...

Re: best way to capture a video from a renpy game.

Yeah, it should be. Try OBS. I believe it will work out for you. Your processor seems like it can handle it. It will take just a bit of time to learn, but not much. Tutorials are everywhere. Plus it is pretty sleek and easy to understand.

Re: best way to capture a video from a renpy game.

Well, what are the programs you have used? I am in love with OBS, but then again I have a Mecha for a PC. If you are just recordin your game then you should be fine.

I've not known VNs to destroy a PC's framerate.

1) I believe it will be fulfilling to the final piece. For right now, I think it is a great introduction to a new charming, cute game! 2) I personally believe that they are diverse, but not too much. Except Vik. She is, by far, the most diverse character. Which I believe you intended it that way. Qu...

Re: Writing long visual novels

Ah! I appreciate the correction. I do apologize.

I may have let my feelings get the best of me there. I try not too.

He does have a fair point, so I will take back some of my comments.

Thank you once again Zelan, and I apologize for hijacking this thread.

Re: Writing long visual novels

I must say. Literary perspectives are nearly the same. Just like artistic perspectives are. Skilled, unskilled; anime, cartoon; tropes, no tropes. Finally the last point: *Insisting Mary-Sue is not a character issue. This is true, but not completely. Characters are Mary-Sue because their personaliti...
