Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you simply stating the communist ideal? I don't know about the "communist ideal". And to to be honest I don't care about it either. So, yes! You are mistaken. It's the elimination of distinctive possession (by individual or group entities) Not really. Unle...

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?

I'd like to make visual novels in the comfort of my home and not actually work my butt off as much organizing people at work Perfectly acceptable in ~my~ "2nd World". Your VNs might contribute to the entertainment of the ppl there. If you are publishing them that is. Most likely - dependi...

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?

Reward and competition is the force that makes people do things, and that something is usually money (or something that must be bought by money). If you look even at this world you know that this is not true. The sheer fact that you are in this forum proves you otherwise. e.g. what's the financial ...

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?

First of all: it's ~MY~ "second world" according to LVUERs topic offer so "Back off!" =D What about the peacekeeping force? Would there be a need for one? Agreeably the whole approach is so radical, that it is hard to tell how ppl would develop under such different conditions. Bu...

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?

@Chrizine - this concept needs ppl to have the ability to envision the consequences if money is completely removed from the system, or society. Ppl are so focussed on money in this world that it has become such an integral part of their lives that they can barely perceive any alternatives of living....

Re: What kind of world do you like for your second world?

A world where ppl have been cured of the greed for money and the fear of lack of money, for money won't exist. Ppl would run this world in co-operation rather than competition. They would focus on the really fun and creative things (at least those who wish to do so). Innovation would explode as no p...

Re: (Even More) Forum Changes

It might help if in the recruitment forum "tags" would be used in the topic titles. Tags that come to mind: [BGM] background music [Char] for character/Sprite art [SFX] sound effect (non music) [VA] voice actor [VOC] vocals / singer [BG] background art [PRG] programmer [TXT] Text/story wri...

Re: Voice actors for older characters - tips appreciated

Don't know if you are serious, but it's not a 'spur of the moment' thing! I do look for serious voice actors. It's not easy to do, can be a lot of work and it needs a decent mic as well.

An accent could work, depending on what accent it is and what characters need to be cast.

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?

In "Alone in the Dark 4" I choose to play Eileen, simply because playing 'Gumby' (spelling?) is just outright boring. In "Deus Ex IW" I played both the female and the male Alex D. I could find only one difference, that one guy in a bar turned gay on the male Alex D. X-D In intera...

Voice actors for older characters - tips appreciated

Does anybody happen to know older ppl. in their 40+ who do volunteer voice acting? (With decent microphones though!) In the two places I know (VAA + VAC) I got only responses from Teenager or early twens.

Re: Should you be allowed to Rollback after decisions?

Like I said, just because there is roll back, doesn't mean I have to use it. That's a good point: Let the players decide for themselves. ( Psst, I am merely trying to keep writers from disabling roll back ^_^ ) And I didn't realise we were talking about bad or average games. I assumed we would be t...

Rollback after decisions all the way!

I think it is rather important for VN choices to be permanent just like our choices in life can not be undone. Doesn't this contradict the whole idea of the concept 'game'? Which is a means of entertainment free of real danger, as opposed to 'real life', or gambling. Games and real life are not the...

Re: Should you be allowed to Rollback after decisions?

@Jake - like Mirage says, a VN isn't like a book, or song unless it's a "Kinetic Novel" with no choices at all. I agree there is only few use for timed menus. Actually I had in mind a 'reaction based mini-game' for my game. My game means to analyse the player, in order to create feedback d...

Re: Should you be allowed to Rollback after decisions?

How do you cater for people getting distracted by something important while playing? I'm guessing such a game doesn't have a 'pause' either, since that would also defy the supposed point of timed choices... Then you are not immersed enough  Reminds me on what I read yesterday on Emily Short's...
