Re: Cars - legality?
You can do it legally, but it's really only worth mentioning the particular brand if it's very important to the characters or story for some reason.

Re: I'm building a web to help storytellers create character
This is really awesome! I know a lot of people are looking for free art, and this would be a great way for them to create characters (with expressions, even!). I also like that you have a section for different body types - I'd love to see different ages as well. Female versions of the male clothes y...

Re: SOON [Scifi][Humour]
Hey, I posted on the Demo thread, but I wanted to post here and let you know I like the music you added to the new version.
I almost felt bad about the robots, they are kind of cute (remind me of Clank from Ratchet and Clank).

Re: SOON (Scifi/Humour)
Whee, I love time-travelling games! I can't believe no one else has played this yet, it's awesome!! I love the scientist characters through time, and how the way you save the world gradually unfolds through trial and error. I found two typos: "that's just rest" -> "that just reset&quo...

Re: The Madness [Psychological Horror / Puzzle]
RE: symbolism: I was impressed at the symbolism, not just that it was there, but that it was subtle enough that it worked even if you didn't consciously notice it. All the mermaid paintings, for example... to me they symbolize the tendency of sexual aggressors to blame the victims (she bewitched me!...

Re: Changing the Expression of a side image DynamicDisplayab
OK, this is actually simpler than I though, but involves using python, not Ren'Py. Unfortunately, we can't do what Asceai suggested because we are using a DynamicDisplayable, and im.FactorScale only works on images... But, what you can do is add the following function in your code (I put it right be...

Re: Tour de Paseban (Android version)
OK, I finished the whole game on my tablet and it worked just fine! Even the map, which normally you hover over to get pop-up text, worked if you dragged your finger around.
Glad it was so easy to test that for you.

Re: Tour de Paseban (Android version)
OK, everything seems to work great so far! I just finished chapter 1. The only thing you might want to change is in the intro text, where it says "click to advance/auto," etc, maybe should be changed to "click or tap". I will let you know when I finish the whole thing, but so far...

Re: Tour de Paseban (Android version)
Downloading! I have Tour de Paseban in my play queue, but I'm more likely to play it on my tablet, so I'll give it a try! I also want to release my upcoming VN for android, so it's a good opportunity to get my feet wet.

Re: What's your goal in life?
College? check! Husband? check! Kids? check! Soooo... now what?
I want to raise my children to be good and happy, make our home a nice place to be, stay in love with my hubby, and MAKE COOL STUFF! (like the VN I'm working on, though I also do sewing, music, writing, etc).

Re: Changing the Expression of a side image DynamicDisplayab
I think you should be able to use a ConditionSwitch , kind of like what I put in below. You'll need to have a variable called "pov_expr" that you update with the expression every time it changes. I don't have your images so I didn't test it, but I think this is the basic idea of what you w...

Re: Visual Novels on Android OS?
I reviewed a few of the ones Near mentioned here: http://thepretentiousgamer.blogspot.com/2013/08/androids-best-visual-novels.html - they are all free and great quality. Time Labyrinth is another fun one. Also, two of my visual novels, Our Personal Space and WANTED: Dragon are available in the Googl...

Is Gone Home a Visual Novel?
I just played the indie game Gone Home , and it had a lot of things in common with a visual novel. Most of the story is told via reading documents and journals you find. But the exploration element also makes it quite different from a visual novel, as it uses the space and unknown-ness of the mansio...
