Re: Hacking mini games, what is best?
So, if it was optional for example would let you unlock some bonus content, but not vital to the story, it would probably work better? As that way you wouldn't hold people back with it, but also you could give a bit more of an explanation to it That's a good idea. If you implement some sort of chea...

Re: Hacking mini games, what is best?
I'd have a hard think about whether you want this in the game at all. The problem is, no matter how much effort you put into your representation of hacking in the story (and us programmer-types do like to get this right) it can really be dragged down by a silly minigame where connecting four blocks...

Re: Hacking mini games, what is best?
Of your list, I've played Assassin's Creed (the first two), Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and Fallout 3. I don't recall any hacking in Assassin's Creed, so I'm assuming you mean later entries. I didn't mind Deus Ex: HR's hacking since the mini game gave you a few ways to do things, as well as items to...

Hacking mini games, what is best?
Alright so I am currently working on a VN where the protagonist is a programmer/hacker, We are going to be adding a mini-game of some sort of hacking, or at least that we call hacking. So I'm looking for advice on what kind of mini-game would be best? A lot of games have some sort of hacking in them...

Re: Feedback/Critique on Voice Acting?
It is a VN, I can't say a definite time, but at current progress it should be finished in the next few months, I will probably be able to give a better estimate next week.
I shall message you when I have a better timeline

Re: Feedback/Critique on Voice Acting?
So, I listened to your demo real, only a couple of things to comment ont. Firstly, you sounded kind of nervous in most of the clips, I think you need to try and relax a bit more - though this might just be a bit of a personal feeling so take it with a grain of salt. Secondly, When doing a demo reel ...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
I just hope it could last another week. I have final papers to work on, and formatting it for the repair guys will take far took long... The sound has since became different since I posted [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9OklxF_tHw]this video[url]. Now, half of the time, whenever it does make...

Re: What motivates you to make a VN?
Loving what i do, I code day in and day out, and i enjoy every moment of it.
Though VNs do become a struggle to work on as there isn't really much actual programming needed to be done.
So i guess my answer is love for code?

Re: How to Work with Programmers
I am talking about the fact that designers are told, "get this done by then" which is impossible from the start. It's impossible? Really? How do you think games meet production deadlines? Why do you think games are delayed half the time? As a rule of thumb, two engineers working together ...

Re: How to Work with Programmers
Now, I'm not a developer or an engineer or anything like that, but I have friends and contacts who are, so I've picked up a few things here and there. Secondly the fact of someone experienced giving completely wrong estimate times is actually a lot less common that you purpose, most of the time, in...

Re: Writing for the programmer
I think this would depend on your programmer, personally I have written my own engine for VNs so I have my own format I would prefer the writer to write in. While others for example renpy scripters, would probably prefer it straight as renpy script as it gives them less work to do. So I think your b...
