Re: Favorite celebrity (Non Anime related)
Vincent D'onofrio. I would have his babies. End of story. And yes I am a man, but I would make it work.

Re: Regarding "The Controversy"
I know that I am new here, but I have been a mod on many different forums in my lifetime and I would be honored to serve a great community like this in the capacity of a moderator. I only join forums after I lurk for a year or so. If during that year I become disinterested or disgusted then I don't ...

Re: Race in Visual Novels
I think the way to go is more cultural diversity. One thing that I've heard complaints about is the lack of diversity in fantasy books and games, where almost all the characters are white. Well, that's probably because the roots of most medieval-ish fantasy are in Western European history and myths...

I apologize for dragging this thread from the depths of the graveyard, but is there any news on a potential update?

Re: Ren'Py 6.12.1+ Planning Thread
It isn't that I dislike v3 it is just that I am an old codger at heart and I don't like change. I just became comfortable with v2.6 and the idea of tackling all the changes they made to the general syntax of python is the equivalent of a small child watching monsters tear up their favorite blankie. ...

Re: Ren'Py 6.12.1+ Planning Thread
The key is to have Frameworks, or sets of scripts that provide additional implementation depending on the genre of game. Here's the best battle framework for Ren'Py thus far: http://www.eviscerate.net/article/rpg-battle-engine-renpy I'm currently making an HD game with prerendered 3D graphics with ...

Re: Dating Sim Girls
I don't know if this sounds pretentious or not, but my ideal romantic interests in games are ones I create. That is one of the reasons I got into game making. I felt like I didn't connect with a lot of the characters in games so I wanted to create my own and get a better connection. That is not sayi...

Re: Hair Colours
Personally I like realistic hair colors. I never liked the Japanese style hair colors and I don't think I ever will. My suggestion would be to just go with whatever feels comfortable for you. If you feel like you need more hair color, then try highlights. If that doesn't work for you, then go the Ja...

Re: Dramatic cliches
I figured you yourself weren't jumping on the south hate bandwagon, but I thought (and still think) that your VN might cause some people to do so. That doesn't mean I think you should give up or anything. Just show some redeeming qualities too. Oh of course. I have several characters in the VN that...

Re: Dramatic cliches
I have actually lived in Alabama for a couple of years so I know very well that the South is not the way popular culture likes to depict it. I neglected to mention that this VN is set in the 1920's when there was a lot of racism and bigotry against anything that was different. This was the trend for...

- School Setting There are A LOT of visual novels based in a school setting. (well, it is sorta understandable since we can relate to it. Afterall I think everyone here has been to school before.) I don't know what you are talking about. I am a robot designed to make VNs. I have never been to schoo...

Re: Dramatic cliches
For instance an athlete father that gets in a car accident and he can no longer continue his career and dreams so he pushes his child to take part in athletics so he can live vicariously through him and strains their relationship because of it. In my opinion, this has also been done to death. Speci...

Re: Dramatic cliches
Terminal illnesses are so overdone in various creative outlets. One thing I like to do is to depict what I call "terminal injuries". In my opinion injuries from car accidents and other assorted physical hurts can spawn countless character development opportunities. For instance an athlete ...

Re: How many choices are enough to...
Personally I think that MAJOR choices that divert the story onto different paths should be kept far below minor choices that give a different flavor to the characters and story. I also agree that you should be given the opportunity to apologize to the NPC so you can repair the relationship. You shou...
