Mixing art styles in a project
I'd like some thoughts on this - is it viable to create a VN that mixes art styles? i.e. having two character artists, or even having two background artists. Can it potentially work out, and not jar the overall look of the game? Especially if you're, say, reusing BGs from a previous project to shave...

Re: Name my game
Time Crisis is a well-established videogame franchise dating back over two decades. Out of the question. Okay... I didn't even know such a franchise existed. I guess I should've googled it first. Alternatives: Clockwork Crisis - Same idea as my original suggestion. Plus the alliteration makes it so...

Re: Languages!
Oooh~ 1. English - native 2. Tagalog - just a few words and phrases, being a Filipino born in the USA. For example, I would refer to my older cousins "ate" (pron. "ah-tay, big sister), or "kuya" (big brother); my siblings and cousins do the same as well, despite not being fl...

Re: How do You Stay Motivated to Complete a VN?
Among the biggest ones for me is to never, ever, compare yourself and your projects to others. It'll kill your motivation and create doubt as a developer - as in like you see an amazing project with a successful kickstarter and think your project will never measure up. VNs (or games in general) take...

Re: What got you into making visual novels?
I tried to make an RPG and failed; it was too much work, and I was mainly interested in the story aspects, so that's when I discovered visual novels and decided to go with that instead. A bonus was that VN's allowed for much higher quality artwork which had more appeal. Next to which, unlike a lot ...

Keeping an eye on this thread, your BGs look spectacular and you might be what I need for my project.

Re: Anime due for a remake
I'd love to see the first three seasons of Working!! get a remake. I'm a bit of a fan of the series, having watched up to season 4 (though it has completely different characters than the first three). A very cute and funny slice-of-life series, it kind of what inspired my VN projects. However, what ...

I learned that my artist for my Café Memoria Deux project attempted suicide, via her Twitter account.
Please, pray for her recovery.

Re: A manga/game you wished was an anime?
This reminds me when I was talking about my projects to family once. Something like I release it and if it becomes super popular, there's a chance big production studios might contact me and offer a contract for an anime adaption. That would be like a dream come true if my projects ever get an anime...

Re: Disappearing Artist
Oi, I feel your pain as I'm kind of going through that with my own project as well. :( It might be really difficult for you to swallow, but if there hasn't been much progress lately and combined with the lack of communication (provided you've given enough time for them to respond), you might be bett...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...
I could give a long, drawn out explination, but it would likely end up with me going way off topic. It tends to come down to one of two things. a) The person does want to talk to you, but feels like they have nothinnng they can contribute to what it is you are wanting to talk about at the time, or ...

A "little" pet peeve of mine - why is it that when you try to start a conversation to some people, but then they reply to it with something completely off-topic to what you're saying, as if they're ignoring what you're saying? For example: Me: I feel like I should cut back on so-and-so a b...

Re: How do you have the commitment?
Even if it's only say 20 minutes, consistently putting some time into your project daily helps immensely. I third this. As long as at least little something gets done then it's good. To be quite honest if I don't at least get something done in a day then I start feeling bad about it. Though a littl...
