Re: I'm trying to remap the "d" key...not sure whats going on
I would think that setting config.developer = False would solve the issue, but if still persists, then I'm a bit stumped. I think this probably belongs in the Ren'Py Questions and Announcements section. Hopefully having this thread moved will provide someone with the answer seeing it. I'll still try...

Re: What do you use to plan your visual novels?
No problem!
Wow, I am impressed and slightly frightened by the reason the A4 paper turned black. o_o It wouldn't have been my first guess, haha.
That is a lot of scenes! I wish you luck with your project.

Re: What do you use to plan your visual novels?
I suspect that when you print it, the program is taking into account the background of the graph and turns the paper black. But I rarely print things, so I'm not 100% sure on that. Are you trying to print directly from the program? I would try exporting your graphs into .pdf or image form (like .png...

Re: What do you use to plan your visual novels?
Have you tried using yEd Graph Editor? I really like it, as it allows me to be as messy as possible, and then clean the branching paths up at a click of a button.

Communication. The ability to effectively communicate with your team and anyone else who might encounter your project (press, players, etc.) is key.

Narration, Dialogue, and GUI Design
In 2010-2011 I made a short amateur visual novel. The feedback that stood out to me was that someone had a strongly worded complaint that they could not tell the difference between the narration and dialogue, even with the character's name displayed above the text box. This issue haunted me for some...

I'm currently working on:
-Houseki no Kuni
Recently Finished:
-My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?
I really wanted to enjoy SAO because I'm a huge .hack fan. But it really let me down. The suspension of disbelief was ruined almost immediately. I really disliked how it was a harem-y "new girl every other week" sort of deal. Not to mention the weak characterization (both generally and esp...

The last game I finished was Blackberry Honey. Currently I'm near the end of VA-11 Hall-A.
Blackberry Honey was beautiful and I really enjoyed it. I am loving VA-11 Hall-A hardcore.

Re: What got you into making visual novels?
I'd been playing VNs since 2006 and got really into Umineko during high school. I hadn't intended to work on VNs or games, but I stumbled into it in 2010 when carosene needed someone to help him with sprites for That Cheap and Sacred Thing. I helped color some of the sprites' lineart and it led to s...
